Could you please explain what "soliciting" mean? I googled it of course, but somehow can't understand what people mean when they invite you to participate in a contest and say no soliciting. Thanks in advance!

It seems they perhaps didn't specify any soliciting examples, so I can only assume they meant not to approach contest members trying to sell them your art?

I lost that job long ago, Jaxine. It was with a small tech company that got bought by a big one that merged with another big one to become a really big one that starts with a V. Then they decided not to renew the contract with the client site at which I had been stationed and laid off the lot of us. (Still got "stay bonuses" our original boss had negotiated for us every few months for like a year after since we didn't leave voluntarily or get fired for cause.) Went to work with my wife in her business and built that up. Now twelve years later she's bored with it and has taken a job as a lab tech while I'm hoping to train into a job as a mobile app and/or web developer and meanwhile working nights installing equipment, fiber, and power systems in telco offices. While raising a 4yo boy. Whew!

So, no, Michael, I'm not an antiques dealer. We just have a fair number of shops in the historic district. :)

My old great-grandmother years ago, used to say that a colorful sky warned of future hurricanes. Colorful skies used to terrify the old folks. To them, it was a dire warning of bad weather to come.

Now I don't remember if there was rain after that sunrise, because it rains every day here and definitely every night. Here's a recently shot after the rain. Just look at what the rain does to us!

You are correct having worked offshore for over 5 years I took many spectacular photos of sunrises and sunsets and moon glows over the Gulf Of Mexico, this was very vivid to see in real life.

When my photos were in public storage the last count last summer was 800,000 and I know I have at least a million, maybe more, think about it I have been taking photos since i was 10 year old, that is over 51 years. I am never going to get my money back, I will have to make at least one sale before I reach 62 years old. My entire life before my eyes, when TV station came to storage unit where I had them, someone a professor from a university said it would reach half way around the world....but my photos have already gone around the world and back....On another site in a year 185,000 vuews total.....

Jaxine, Michael, these are 4 of my 6 mystery/thrillers. River Bones has won two major awards so I've also written a sequel in eBook, going to paper in 2-3 months. I have a collection of short stories. One of them was nominated for the coveted Pushcart Prize. I also have 3 nonfiction references to help writers, the latest one -Write It Right - Tips for authors: The Big Book - just released May 6th. (Some book cover fronts are in my Surprises gallery. I'll post them all because I want metal of each for my wall.)

I'm working a private craft fair today at a large, large condo complex on the North Shore. I leave you with this. But if you think you've heard the last of me, you're sorely mistaken.

I am heading later to the Creole Tomato Festival at the oldest continuous outdoor farmers market in the Vieux Carrie, everything is a tomato, i have been to it many times, the weather outside right now is fantastic. There seems to be a gateway problem here, So, I may not be able to stay on line very long.....or until its corrected....

I have my eye on Mary's tatting, my irish aunt when she would visit New Orleans every five years from Ireland did beautiful tatting It sure is a beautiful art form. I call it Fiber Art, I use to design Fiber Wall hangings....you do not see many fiber artist anymore.

They couldn't get my arms from around the tree for a long time.

The one box of stuff I kept back will go back into place. Then the deliciously empty nooks and crannies of my house get thoroughly cleaned. I am feeling ok at the moment, I have had very stiff back when I wake up in the morning but once I more about during the day, its ok. I worked on this photo this evening its called a Dutchman Pipe Flower, grows on a vine similar to a morning glory.

having coffee, Going through all the art books, Telling my self "self I won't buy"
But I never listened to my self and always went home with a new art book.
now I donate them to the Veterans art work shop at our Gallery. They love them.
We work with Veterans from all wars, They really like the classes. We had a big
art project at the Phoenix city hall for them on Veterans day. Displayed their art work
etc.

Jaxine, do you know Ron Nardi? He volunteers for the Veterans in Phoenix. He's been a friend since way back in the 1970s.

This kind of thread was made on another photography forum I know. The thread was started over 2 years ago. I haven't visited that site in about a good year, and when I went back out of boredom....the thread was still going.

Mary, what a small small world. Kathi Nardi, was a member of our art group "Citique Encounters XII" Untill she passed away. I know Ron, have been to his house many times to pick up Kathi. Have not been around Ron for a very long time.
He never went to her art shows but he was nice when I'd talk to him.
Kathi and I were in the art circles together for 20 years. loved her.

Jaxine, Kathy and I worked together at John C. Lincoln Emergency for several years. She remained a friend even after I returned to S.F. She visited me there too. After I began writing, when I went back to Phoenix for book signing events, I stayed at their home. We have so much history and secrets together. Last time I stayed there, she was very ill but still getting out and around. Shortly after that, she gifted me one of her water lily paintings before she passed away. I hope to meet YOU whenever I may pass through Phoenix again.

I really thought I had won last night. Got up this morning expecting a million views and now I have to start all over.

The building in the foreground, is part of the complex I am living, the entire center of the block is parking, I zoomed in for this particular shot, the owners of the complex did not inquire the entire block, there are three, three story historic structures which are privately owned and currently being renovated.

I bought way too big a case of Swiss Miss this winter, and probably have half of it left over. I've been wondering if it would be good mixed in with my cheerios, but now I'm wondering how it would be on ice cream.

Speaking of which, try Turkey Hill Double Dunker if you haven't already. Coffee ice cream with chocolate chip cookie dough balls and crushed oreos. I don't think I've so much as looked at another flavor since finding it,

I have news for everyone, Mike Savard posted a forum about another site a clone here on FAA pixels.com, you there and its identical to this site, it has something to do with Australia so there are no longer one million views its now two million views, because there are two FAA sites. Go see Mike Savard forum about it....
