Hiya David,

This is one of the many quick drawings that I made at one of the life classes that I attended. I chose to do my drawings with markers - no pencils and no erasers. I was only looking for values to improve my abilities to observe and wasn't interested in drawing accuracy. Besides there wasn't enough time. There was only 15 to 25 minutes for this one.

This is based on the story of Pope Clemente VII (Giulio di Giuliano de' Medici 26 May 1478 – 25 September 1534 ) who alledgedly fathered the Black Medici, Alessandro de' Medici , il Moro (July 22, 1510 – January 6, 1537) with an freed African woman, named Simonetta.

the sole survivor in a series i painted in grad school in order to eat. it took 5 years before we got beautiful nude models to paint and draw!

natalie, the ratio is screwed up on your last post. and yes, her butt looks big in that post! lol

Rob sat me in a chair that I could actually get to my easel in the other day. He set up my paints and shoved a brush in my hand lol I flicked a few colours on and got this. I am not sure if I will work on it more or paint over it yet.

Thankfully I am now up properly and painting again albeit one handed :)

This is the closest thing to a nude I have done in many, many years. Much of my work is shown in schools so the nude form while beautiful is not on my agenda, generally speaking.

Thanks Nat, I met/or saw on the street all of the people in that painting. From Victoria Falls & Huange, Zimbabwe and Durban, South Africa. My wife has in the past had that painting her office. It has been asked to be removed twice so now it is in my gallery. Your nudes are great.

That's a beautiful shot Chris. I know he is naked, but it doesn't feel like a sexual image...very masculine and dramatic.

A suggestion: These sorts of topic threads get real long, real fast, taking a bit of time to download. I have to sit watching a zillion responses load, before my computer screen stabilizes.

Maybe close out one thread, and start its continuance, as a PART II, PART III, PART ad infinitum. This way, you can close out multiple threads on the same exact topic that get too long to load in a resonable time as only a single thread. You still accomplish the same fun thing.

Anything with the word, "nude", "free", "god", "sex", or "money" is gonna get lots of attention. (^_^)

Okay, time to go start my new "Free nude sex money god" topic thread now. Think I'll get any hits?

I find it interesting that almost all of these nudes are female..

Always thought that the human body is created by God, the human body is beautiful. Both men and women, tall, short, fat, thin, or black or white. Many works by old masters with their own brush to express the admiration of the human body. However, the many beautiful paintings of the human body can not be appreciated, deemed pornographic, often the shadow mask in a public log. Hair on this log, I do not know whether it is the date of masked, but the opening of the network to exchange it? Shawn, you are free to post male nudes, if that suits your fancy. There is no objection as long as they aren't pornographic, which is the same requirement for female nudes. In posting female nudes most artists do not think about the gender aspect. We simply gravitate towards female nudes, not to be sexist, but because they are more appealing. Even female artists paint female nudes. So, feel free to post male nudes. If they're tastefully done, they're welcomed.

It used to be in ancient Greece or Rome IDK which any more that the male nudes were sculpted with the male genitalia smaller than real life. The common belief was that male genitalia was not attractive.

I really don't understand the rules here. Is this display of nudity available to be seen by children here on FAA? I only ask because some folks here scream at me for showing the backside of a women fully dressed and label me as a pornographer. I am confused!!!
