Sydne Archambault was born and raised in the Great state of Wyoming. She grew up in a home where art held a presence. Her mother Willie Jordan Misner studied under Birger Sandzen at Bethany College in Lindsberg Kansas. Art was her mother's passion and her passion passed to Sydne as a young girl.
Twenty years ago Sydne wrote a children's story and decided to illustrate it. She discovered a software program Meta Creations Painter 5 and this began the journey in digital art. Painter had all the artist brushes, water colors, textures one would need without the clean up. As Painter has grown into Corel Painter 12, so has Sydne in her art and her passion to create. 'Honestly if the roof fell in I wouldn't notice it when I am painting. Well that may not be all together true.' she says with a grin.
For the most part she loves to do Collages. 'I love to create paintings with textures, patterns, flowers, designs whatever I might find that might be of interest. They always surprise me, and this is what I am looking for. I am looking for a painting that has some element of mystery perhaps not seen at first, but when found brings a smile to the viewer.'
It has been a long journey for Sydne in her artistic path. What started as illustrating her own stories, one of which she self published at Author house. 'Initially it was for my two sons, a personal story of how a mother will always know their child no matter how far away or where they travel in life. It was titled, 'On Wings of Angels'. A labor of love. I suppose I was working through the empty nest syndrome, however it was instrumental to where I am today. While I admit I am not the best writer that has walked this earth. I am not even close, but I do love to tell stories, and my art is all about the story in the colors, the expression, the moment. Anyway this is what I try to accomplish. Always.'
Life is filled with stories to be told. Everyday there is a smile, a tear, hope found, hope lost, and faith in possibilities. This is what the masters gifted us, this is what the artist's today aspire to, paintings, sculptures, collages, water colors, pastels filling our senses with the beauty of living in this world. Sydne Archambault is no different, it is her passion to be one of the many story tellers with a brush stroke of color and love.
