As a self taught artist, I approached paint in an unconventional way. I needed to see what the paint felt like, not what the paint looked like. I create a random background, stand back and let myself “see” who and what is naturally created in the paint as I moved my fingers through it. I try to take a 'judge not' approach to whatever I see. It would not be a stretch for me to say my paintings are like a box of chocolates. I never know what I am going to get. I plan nothing. I draw nothing. I see images in the paint and sculpt the paint to the lines I see.
The goal in all my paintings is the discovery of what characters are in the paint, to see what happens naturally and to allow you to see what I see……to see who or what is in the paint.
