ARTIST STATEMENT:
My most recent landscape work evolves from my personal and visual connection to the surrounding landscape of Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. It is art created from my personal experiences, memories and feelings of this place. They were made to simply record a time, a day, a season, a thought or a mood. I am currently exploring the space between the hand-made and computer-made. Blending art and technology, I strive to use technology as part of my creative process without allowing it to override my own personal vision and feelings.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Dorinda K Skains studied Fine Art at the University of North Carolina and graduated from the University of Alaska, where she also taught design basics and color theory. As a multi-media artist with an extensive background in architectural design, her work has been incorporated into materials such as glass, tiles, laminates and metalwork. She has been awarded several public art projects and enjoys creating art for education, health, hospitality and recreational facilities. She is experienced with acrylics, oil sticks, pastels, watercolors, inks, collage, relief, mosaics, and digital medias. She enjoys working with architects and interior designers to create custom artwork to complement their particular spaces and color schemes.


PRINT INFORMATION:
Paper Prints: All the papers offered show very good color but vary in thickness and texture.
Acrylic Prints: These are an outstanding choice and provide for great color vibrance in a modern display.
Canvas Prints: I prefer the Matte canvas. (On many artworks, the mirrored edges look great and will make the painting appear larger. Plus the edges can always be painted over with acrylics if need be in the future)

My artwork files are sized to print high quality large images. Depending on your computer and internet speed, the preview windows may load slower on some images.
