Bon Voyage Cake

August 13th, 2015 - St. Louis, MO

Bon Voyage Cake

Public Works picked up the Lincoln Douglas Stl250 cake July 10th for the Let Them Eat Art Event in Maplewood. The cake is on the loose! Great job guys!!!

I originally painted this cake in 2014 for the Stl250 Cakeway To The West 250th Birthday Celebration in St. Louis, Missouri. The 4ft. tall fiberglass cake statue had been outside exposed to the elements for over a year so I refurbished it. I painted four cakes altogether. You can view all the cakes on my Pinterest Public Art Page: Genevieve Esson Art Public Art On Pinterest

You can see more photos of the Lincoln Douglas cake on my blog:

My Very First Book Publishing

August 12th, 1985 5:40 pm Atlantic Eastern Time, JFK - New York

This is the place of my birthday. I like to think of this day also as time of my birthday. The moment the airplane touched ground at New York’s JFK Airport, it was a very special moment for me; it was when I became a free man for the very first time. It might not be the whole truth since my birth country was a cool place to live in before the enemy from the east attacked us. The United States of America - this country was free altogether and I already knew quite a lot about this place. I loved America and I love this country today and I will continue to love the place which gave me the chance to be a free man, to study whatever I wanted to study, and to become whatever I could possibly accomplish. The President in The White House at that time was Ronald Reagan. This former cowboy from Hollywood movies allowed me, or rather the government lead by him, to live and stay and to receive political immigrant...

Artist Deborah B Smith Receives Peoples Choice Award

Artist Deborah B. Smith receives the Peoples Choice Award at the Sanford Welcome Center's Breakable exhibit.on July 24, 2015. Smith's painting titled Broken Vessel is truly a well executed piece of art. Her techniques for portraying glowing light emitting from a broken jar are skillfully crafted.
