Woman In Color Blue The New Edition

Artur Kalinski, Polish artist, photographer and performer, painted a continuation of "BlueMotion", with 11 new images using only two colors. They represent the feminine silhouette in blue and white colors

.

The artist once again turned away from the noble metal, which is gold, to bring out the depth of the female body. This time, the images are a bit bolder thanks to the full shapes of the models. The intense contrast between the deep black background and a clear composition gives the impression that the form is suspended in a vacuum, which adds to the aura of uniqueness and mystery.

Fun with two colors - blue and white -- allows creation of the female shape. Despite using only two colors, the artist is able to fully bring out the light that flows around the most distinctive feminine attributes. Similarly, as in the case of using the technique with gold, the artist does not give too much attention to details and focuses primarily on the play of light. Looking...

The exhibit contains more than 25 new and recent pastel paintings by the award winning artist, Mary Jane Erard. Her twenty year painting career is filled with accolades too numerous to list. Ms Erard's paintings have been published numerous times in national magazines and books. She is one of a select few northwest Ohio artists who have been juried into the prestigious Pastel Society of America. Upon the opening of The Blackburn Gallery, exhibits will highlight the works of twelve regional artists. The gallery will additionally debut art work from students at the Nelson County High School as the gallery’s first guest artist feature. Guest artists will be rotated through the gallery every three months. Kevin Blackburn, the owner of the gallery, has been an artist and photographer for more than 20 years. This is an exciting new venture for Kevin to be able to create a space for emerging and accomplished artists, as well as a space for Kevin to highlight his own personal body of work. The collections that are being shown from Kevin’s personal body of work are from his Impressions limited edition collection. In 1942, Bill Manbo (1908-1992) and his family were taken from their Hollywood home into the Japanese American internment camp at Heart Mountain in Wyoming. While there, Manbo documented both the bleakness and beauty of his surroundings, using Kodachrome film, a technology then just seven years old, to capture community celebrations and to record his family's struggle to maintain a normal life under the harsh conditions of racial imprisonment. Anahi DeCanio was selected as one of the participating artists for the 57th Long Island Artists Exhibition at the Art League of Long Island. "Vanity Fair" - a mixed media painting was selected as one of 60 works to be included in the exhibit out of 706 works submitted by 225 artists. "Vanity Fair" - a 60x48 mixed media painting, was previously awarded First Place at a Boca Raton Museum of Art Artist's Guild juried art exhibit in Delray Beach. The painting was also selected by Bernice Steinbaum - Director of Steinbaum Gallery in Miami, to be part of a show at the Armory in Palm Beach, Florida.

Grand Junction photographer Angela Classen will be displaying three photographic images as part of the "Hot Air Balloon" themed art display at The Rock Bar & Grille at Tiara Rado Golf Course, 2057 S. Broadway, Grand Junction, Colorado. The images were selected by the City of Grand Junction Commission on Arts & Culture from nearly 40 entries. Angela's works in this show include "Snowmass Trio", "Colorado Moon" and "Pile O' Balloons". All of these colorful images were created during last year's balloon festival at Snowmass, Colorado and are matted, framed and available for purchase during the show, which runs from March 30, 2015 through September 30, 2015.
