April 25, 2014 (New York, NY) – ArtNowNY is pleased to present the first ever solo exhibition of Charles Quiles, Fais-Mois L’Amour (Make Love to Me). The exhibition will survey the past 11 years of work by the noted photographer in over 20 photographs and one new video installation selected from his work in the fashion industry, as well as from the artist’s personal archive. There will be an opening reception for the artist at ArtNowNY (548 W 28th Street 2nd Floor, New York) from 6 to 9 PM.
Fais-Mois L’Amour is a deeply personal exhibition and ultimately a photographic diary from the artist. The video installation, débuted to the public for the first time in the show, lays bare his acknowledgment and acceptance of the end of a relationship. Roughly half of the photographs are similarly intimate, featuring some of his closest friends, lovers, and mentors that helped develop the young artist as an up-and-coming fashion photographer from Puerto Rico, such as the legendary Mariano...

King Images Chosen for Juried Cotton Cancer Center Exhibition
Two images by Rumney, NH artist Wayne King have been chosen for display in the Juried exhibition "Healing with Art".
Raining Umbrellas is a mixed media montage image with elements of both photography and water color painting. It is a happy and colorful image blending an image of umbrellas flying through the air and a cloudscape painted with watercolors. The images are blended together on a single base image which is scanned for output on cotton rag fine art paper with archival inks.
Joy in the Splash Zone shows a young child experiencing pure joy as he flees from the splash of a water attraction at Canopy Lake Amusement Park in New Hampshire.

Originally Issued: October 9, 2014. Link Updated: April 9, 2015. Florida fine arts photographer, John Hintz announced today the introduction of a new series of forty images titled “Nevada Rocks.” All photos in the series were shot in September, 2014 in the desert outside Las Vegas in one session beginning at sunrise and ending around noon. The intent of the series was to capture the changes in the desert landscape brought about by the rising sun. This series should be of particular interest to interior designers in the Southwest.
In the words of the artist, “After spending most of my life in cool, damp and gray Ohio and now a resident of sunny, hot and humid Florida, getting out onto the dry sand and rocks of the desert for the first time was like being a kid in a candy store. The change in environment was so overwhelming, I had trouble deciding where to start. All the natural beauty - the shapes, the forms, the lines, the textures and mostly the color all at some point either...

Originally Issued: June 18, 2014. Link Updated: April 9, 2015. Florida fine arts photographer, John Hintz announced today the introduction of a new series of six abstract images called “Plants & Friends.” Each photo in the series combines the natural shapes, lines, textures and colors of selected southern U.S. plants and flowers with common ants, spiders, flies, green anoles and flowers for visual reference.
In the words of the artist, “I am now in the early stages of a second career as a fine arts photographer and the impact of my move to Florida from Ohio couldn’t be more evident than in my New “Plants & Friends Series” of photographs. My primary subject matter is local plant and wildlife. As a Midwesterner, seeing these, many for the first time, is truly amazing. Everything here in Florida is so different from what I am used to. Even a simple bromeliad is full of mystery and beauty. I now use my graphics background and experience to recognize and include the bold, sweeping...

At her upcoming exhibit at Duffy’s Coffee House, Manuela Battilani said those who visit throughout the month of March, can expect to see “the deepness of every single captured element.”
“The elements that compose a picture have their own beauty that can be seized through a photograph,” said Battilani, the March Downtown-Go-Around featured artist.
Her exhibit opens Fri., March 14, 5 to 9 p.m., as part of the visual and performing arts’ event held the second Friday of each month in Clarks Summit. The Downtown-Go-Around committee was formed under the auspices of the Abington Business & Professional Association to celebrate local artists.
When Battilani was 20-years-old, while living in her native Imola, Italy, she recalls taking photos of her family.
“I felt like capturing every moment of my life and my beloved ones,” she said. “That was the time when I started to develop what I believe I’ve always had since I was a child, a feeling to introduce myself to the...
