A flea market is filled with unique objects invoking curiosity, nostalgia, humor and surprise. A blue and white Pyrex bowl
recalls helping Grandma mix stuffing for holidays past. A cut-crystal candy dish reminds us just how much we love that old-world pink color. A darkly framed formula-landscape evokes dreams of scary monsters. A planet-shaped radio, reflecting design aspects of the early Star Wars days, reminds us of the exact one we had as a kid, except in yellow.
These objects and curiosities are a ripe cache for inspiration - as is the community at the Cleveland Street Flea Market, where some of the vendors have been in business there since the market opened sixteen years ago.
I embellished a common plain table based memories of Florida. I purchased a souvenir plate of Florida; got out my saw and went from there.

Mother's Day pop art portrait gift for artistic Mom
For modern mother which appreciate modern style
My beautiful mama holding my GDS, Ann Shella. How cute are these two?! She is my role model, and I worship the ground she walks on. She has overcome so much in her 63 years, If I grow up to become half the woman she is, I will be doing just fine. Never bad-talk your mother, because the day will come when she’s no longer there, and you will never forgive yourself. Love her in spite of how crazy she drives you, in spite of how she tests your patience. She is truly one in a billion.

Elwira Pioro was born and raised in Poland. She was creative from a young age, sketching in charcoals and painting in water colors, she used art as a way to escape from the reality of growing up in a communist country.
As she grew into a young adult, Elwira spent time as a figure model and studio assistant for her aunt. Inspired by her aunt’s career as a fine artist, Pioro began painting seriously after her high school years.
In 1996 the artist moved from Poland to the U.S. Soon after arriving in America she had a baby boy. At this stage in her life Elwira put art on the back-burner, spending her time providing for her son. She was later diagnosed with a brain aneurysm that changed her life in more than one way. The years that followed brought recovery from brain surgery and a renewed desire to create. This second chance at life pushed Elwira to go back to art full-time.
Self-taught, Pioro found her artistic foundation while working in the studio of pop artist Tom...

"The shocking emotions"
This months piece was done in acrylic on canvas.
The first week was the worst - Not because of shock or emotional pain.
This is a continuation of my concentration where I am expressing to the viewer how different touches convey different emotions.
These were the first drafts for leaflets and posters. This months emotion was shock/fear. I gave the portrait a black border so that it would make a minimalistic feel and contrast the light skin tone shown in the picture.

Nothing is more personal to the individual than color From the tones in our hair to the hints in our irises, color defines who we are. This is something recognized by abstract artist L. J. Smith. In his abstract art, he creates his own carefully-rendered selection of colors to express a range of human emotions and experiences. From warm orange tones to vibrant greens and more subtle blues, his online original art gallery is home to a spectrum of colors all uniquely explored.
When producing each piece, L. J. Smith sets out to create visual impressions that are personal to the individual. Therein lies the beauty of color expression within abstract art: each hue, tone and subtle blend speaks to us differently, tells different story, echoes a different mood or perhaps reminds us of places from our past.
If you are looking to buy a creative piece to brighten an office or workplace environment, why not draw on the bold colors of pieces such as ‘Zest’ or perhaps the more...
