Artist Tiffany Chaney Debuts New Sacred Dea Goddess Nymph And Woman Series

February 19th, 2015 - Winston-Salem, NC

Artist Tiffany Chaney Debuts New Sacred Dea Goddess Nymph And Woman Series

"Sacred Dea: Goddess, Nymph & Woman" is a new series by artist Tiffany Chaney, exploring the sacred feminine through the lens of myth, of goddesses, and others in lore, as well as their herbal correspondences. "Sacred Dea” will run from February 13, 2015 – February 28, 2015 with an opening reception Friday, February 13th, from 5:00-10:00 p.m. at Green Door Wheel Works, a custom bicycle shop and community space in downtown High Point, North Carolina.

The focus of this small collection of ten mixed media works on wood panel is the evolution of the female figure as goddess and woman throughout time. "The female figure is sensual, the creatrix and nexus of life, evidence of order and chaos in us all. She is often many things at once," says Chaney. "Often the female deity is associated with the ability to transform or shape shift, as women have had to do for centuries in their many roles in life." The works focus more on the vitality and power in this ability, rather than its...

Photograph Of The Day

Photograph Of The Day

The month of February is noted for love and the challenges of the African American Race. Love should not just be remembered on the 14th of February. True love should be remembered every day of the year. Nor should the challenges of the African American Race be remembered only one month of the year. But every month of the year. Our photograph of the day is one of love.

The Impermanence Of Peace - Our Souls Are United. Solo Exhibition By Antonella Manganelli

February 18th, 2015 - Reston, VA

The Impermanence Of Peace - Our Souls Are United. Solo Exhibition By Antonella Manganelli

The Impermanence of Peace - Our Souls are United

Our souls are united in the perpetual search of peace, a peace often abused in its profound meaning and betrayed in the name of war. We use the word PEACE in a politically correct statement, to clear our conscience and deliver war in the name a r sls ar united in the grief, loss, pain, tears. Our souls are again united in chasing peace, hope, faith, and love. A perpetual circle that never ends, century after century, we repeat ourselves, and our souls remain united.

I used the language of flowers to create a mirror image between peace and war, a parallel reality representing our human duality. The flowers deliver hope that never dies, remembrance, compassion that recognizes the value of our united souls.

I wish peace through flowers, plants, earth and water, our silent companions that generate life. Despite all the abuse we inflict on them, they persistently whisper a message of peace and life, in the hope of...

Nou Modernisme De Quim Abella

Exposició d’art. Del 16 al 28 de febrer de 2015. Espai Josep Bota – Fabra i Coats.
