Local Artist Launches New Oracle Game

Lafayette, CO - Denver, CO: Local artist Sonya Shannon, who did special effects for a "Star Trek" movie, will release her new "Transformation Oracle" game in booth 208 at the Denver Celebration Metaphysical Fair on Sept. 5 at the Denver Merchandise Mart.

Sonya Shannon is a pioneer digital artist who worked at Broadway Video (home of Saturday Night Live), and whose animation students are now leaders at Blue Sky, Pixar, WETA Digital and other major studios.

The "Transformation Oracle" features 44 original works of art and is based on the four elements earth, air, fire, and water. Local dancers, actors, and yogis posed for the images, which were digitally composited.

The artist will lecture on the transformative powers of art on Sept. 5 from 6-7pm at the Metaphysical Fair. You can find out more on her website sonya-shannon.com.

Benton, MO - FAA Photographer Larry Braun's Photo titled "Lone Cypress" received third place in the Mingo NWR photo contest this year. The cypress in this image is well lighted by late evening sunshine, which gives the leaves a vibrant glow. Still wind conditions created a glass like surface on the water making an almost perfect reflection, obscured slightly by the duck weed floating on the surface.

Art In Nature Photo Festival

Seaford, DE - Salisbury, MD. The Ward Museum of Wildfowl Art has announced the winners of the photography contest in their Art in Nature Photo Festival. Once again, the photo contest proved to be the highlight of the festival with more than 1000 photos submitted by 186 photographers representing 12 different states and one Canadian province.
Receiving an Honorable Mention in the Amateur Black & White category, with her Indian River Inlet Bridge photograph, was Francie Davis of Seaford, Delaware. Francie had just recently won several ribbons in the Delaware State Fair photography contest, including a First Place ribbon in the Black & White Delaware Scenes category, for the same photograph.
