Waterfalls

April 16th, 2015 - Edmonton, AB

Waterfalls

Waterfalls are commonly formed when a river is young. At these times the channel is often narrow and deep. Whirlpools created in the turbulence as well as sand and stones carried by the water continue to carve a path for the water and causes the waterfall to carve deeper into the bed and to recede upstream. Often over time, the waterfall will recede back to form a canyon or gorge downstream as it recedes upstream.

The beauty of a waterfall is captured in photographs at Design Pics. Visit the link below to see our selection:

Where The Wild Things Are

April 16th, 2015 - Edmonton, AB

Where The Wild Things Are

Alaska is home to all three bear species that live in North America - Grizzly bear, Black bear, and Polar bear. In addition to the bear locals, the top big game animals find their home on the cliffs, forests, and tundra landscapes - moose, caribou, sheep, and mountain goat.

Lets not forget about our ocean going friends such as the Humpback whale, Beluga whale, Gray whale and the renowned King salmon and Silver salmon.

The list goes on and on about the wildlife that makes Alaska its home. You can own a professional photograph of any one of them.

The poetry of earth is never dead:

When all the birds are faint with the hot sun,

And hide in cooling trees, a voice will run

On a lone winter evening, when the frost

Has wrought a silence, from the stove there shrills

The Cricket's song, in warmth increasing ever,

And seems to one in drowsiness half lost,

The Grasshopper's among some grassy hills....
