I had fun at your class and am excited to try more Zentangles on my own. I have taken a number of drawing and watercolor classes at NHAC since I retired from Nursing several yeas ago. I haven't done much art work lately, but I am anxious to try the Zentangle projects since it provides instant satisfaction along with its calming effects. I showed Zentangles to my sister-in-law yesterday and I am going to sign us up for the July class. I have a feeling that once word gets out, you are going to be very busy! Thanks for bringing this class to the NHAC. Seee you soon.

I’m a professional freelance writer and I’m always looking for ways to infuse creativity into my day. I love the feel of a pen scratching along paper, I love activities that provide positive feedback and the creation of something satisfying and enjoyable. Zentangle was the perfect fit for me! I’m not an artist, but during the class I was able to let go and...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Erika Sanada: Fighting Spirit
Opening Reception: Saturday August 15, 2015, 6 pm–9 pm
Exhibition Dates: August 15 – September 5, 2015
Modern Eden Gallery presents ‘Fighting Spirit’ a solo exhibition of new ceramic sculptures by Erika Sanada. In this new series, Sanada’s work has evolved with more motion and gesture allowing a more dynamic style of storytelling in her most compelling pieces to date.
Exhibition Statement from the Artist: "My sculptural work explores my anxieties. Early childhood experiences drove me to doubt my self-esteem, developing into a state of worry and distress. To cope with these emotions, my parents gave me a dog and he became a great companion. I use the imagery of dogs in my work to represent the joy in life. However, underlying that happiness, I incorporate odd features into my dogs like extra teeth or ears to symbolize those lingering anxieties. Much like myself, my work is struggling to find a...

NEW ART by Keith Dillon, MEETING. The question is, can art bring people together. As we look around the world, all people make art, from the beginning of humans, we created art, It isn't a magic pill, but it shows that we are more alike, then different. Public Works picked up the Lincoln Douglas Stl250 cake July 10th for the Let Them Eat Art Event in Maplewood. The cake is on the loose! Great job guys!!!
I originally painted this cake in 2014 for the Stl250 Cakeway To The West 250th Birthday Celebration in St. Louis, Missouri. The 4ft. tall fiberglass cake statue had been outside exposed to the elements for over a year so I refurbished it. I painted four cakes altogether. You can view all the cakes on my Pinterest Public Art Page: Genevieve Esson Art Public Art On Pinterest

Orlando, FL – Artists have the ability, through their artwork, to connect with people on an emotional level.
Local artist Allison Constantino hopes her artwork will connect with people and inspire them to become involved with the new “Rise Above Plastics” campaign, dedicated to reducing the number of single-use merchant plastic bags in the Melbourne Beach area and the neighboring Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge and replacing them with re-usable bags, benefiting sea turtles.
Allison is donating 10% of anything sold on her Fine Art America website for the next 6 months to build awareness of the “Rise Above Plastics” campaign.
Allison also created a group of 35 fine artists and...

The abstract in the everyday
Jayashree Narayanan, July 29, 2015, DHNS
Mirage’ encapsulates a variety of meanings just as it captures different aspects of life on the canvas. Paintings ranging from the river Ganges to the unending ‘race for success’ and to the divinities of the Hindu religion, adorn the walls of the Convention Centre Foyer at India Habitat Centre.
The solo show depicts the everyday through abstract representations.
Punekar, 36, originally from Pune and settled in Faridabad is an art teacher by profession. He tells Metrolife, “I am painting since the last 10 years. But I started creating abstract paintings only for the last one-and-a-half years. It is my fifth or sixth solo show.”
Having procured a Masters degree in Fine Arts, he says, “Most of my work is inspired from and related to nature. But what I make is in the abstract form that we don’t generally notice.” he adds, “I have given the title, ‘Mirage’,...
