Flint Hills Of Kansas

Flint Hills Of Kansas

August 30th, 2014

Wichita, KS - I love the Flint Hills here in Kansas. It is trip back into time. There are places that hidden away from the world that we cannot get to with our a guide. Then there is the Flint Hills alive and full of life. There are times driving through here you have to stop, just look at the hill and how they have not change in hundreds of year. You can almost see large herds of buffalo come over the hill and the native american on horse back trying for another change at meat and fur. The Indian use to burn grass so new greener grass would grow then buffalo would return. When the European came here they saw grass for cattle. Some came by trains still others was raised here. No more trains of cattle and few ranches raising cattle but the hill and grass is still here.

Wendy Butler - Mixed Media Artist

Wendy Butler - Mixed Media Artist

August 30th, 2014

Hope Valley, De -
Wendy is an experienced art teacher, artist and educational trainer, living in The Hope Valley, in the beautiful Peak District National Park, UK. She specialises in the creation of vibrant, richly textured abstract landscapes, inspired by the changing moods of her surroundings. Her subject is the way surfaces cover hidden depths and yet can reveal clues to the truth about what is going on underneath; just as the visible landscape shows not only the most recent aspects of its geology, but allows us to detect evidence of what has happened there in the past.
