Muralist Lee Bowerman Remains Alive On Colorados Western Slope

January 28th, 2024 - Logan, KS

Muralist Lee Bowerman Remains Alive On Colorados Western Slope

Lee B. was a recovered alcoholic and well known muralist in Western Colorado. He maintained sobriety for 56 years before his death in 2021. Despite a tumultuous childhood, abandonment by his parents and raised by his grandparents, moving off the reservation in New Mexico to the uranium rich mining camps of the Rocky Mountains, Lee managed to distinguish himself in the world of recovery and the world of art. His journey took him from the National Guard in Colorado to the Army in Hermanie, Pennsylvania, where he served on the Nike Missile Base and then deployed to Germany. Returning stateside, Lee managed to get entangled with the Chicago mob before fleeing home to Grand Junction, where he embraced life in a 12-Step program. Repeating many of the mistakes of his parents, including getting married six times (three times to the same woman), he eventually broke the pattern of generational transgressions to find and give forgiveness. His story is as shocking as it is...

Hearty Caladium Oil Painting By Pat Cross Sold

January 27th, 2024 - Eleanor, Wv

Hearty Caladium Oil Painting By Pat Cross Sold

SOLD! at the Eggplant Boutique in the South Hills of Charleston.

The original oil painting by Pat Cross titled Hearty Caladium reached a new collector while visiting the Eggplant Boutique recently.

Pat Cross tells of her inspiration for the piece. "I captured the reference image for this oil painting during one of my coffee-cup garden tours with my mother," says Pat, adding, "Mom grew caladium in the dappled shade of the grand maple tree that thrived there. I recall how well my mother knew her nurtured plants and explained that though not a bloom, the caladium offers a splash of color in the variegated leaves that are influenced by the light, soil nutrients and neighboring blooms. So, Pat Cross felt compelled to commemorate that discovery with this oil painting, Hearty Caladium.

To view and or purchase a Pat Cross floral painting of your own, visit the Eggplant Boutique, 1011 Bridge Rd A, Charleston, WV 25314.

In the realm of automotive artistry, a new masterpiece emerges: 'Tanis,' a light pink widebody Porsche that seamlessly melds elegance with mystique. This captivating vehicle features a distinctive black dragon tattoo art print, elevating it beyond the ordinary and into the realm of automotive mythology.

Named 'Tanis' after the Greek word meaning 'Serpent Lady,' this Porsche is more than just a car; it is a moving canvas that tells a story of power, strength, and serpentine grace. The delicate blush hue of the widebody Porsche serves as a perfect backdrop for the bold and enigmatic dragon tattoo, meticulously winding its way across the sleek curves of the vehicle.

Danielle Zirkelbach Inducted Into The Artworks Hall Of Fame 2020

A panel of three Flagler Palm Coast High School graduates showed different routes that the arts can take you, but they agreed on one very important piece of advice: You have to do what you love.

Graduates Katy Garrison, Noah Marks and Danielle Zirkelbach were invited back to their old Bulldog stomping grounds to be inducted into the FPC Arts Hall of Fame, at the fourth-annual ArtWorks program, sponsored by the Flagler County Art League, with a grant from the city of Palm Coast.

The auditorium was filled with current FPC students the morning of Tuesday, March 26, as well as School Board members, teachers and FCAL members, as they all listened to the three honorees tell of the trials and triumphs they've experienced as artists in their own fields.

"Whatever you want to do, you really have to push yourself," said Zirkelbach, a professional international artist. After realizing art was her calling, she sold all of her belongings and moved to Hawaii in 2010. She waited...
