Please Help If You Can

I know many are in the same boat as I am but I am asking in case some can help. I am desperate to stay in my tiny home and not become homeless. I have missed another house payment. Many know I became disabled last year and no longer able to hold a job. I am waiting on a Social Security Disability hearing that will not be until after Feb of 2016. I am also waiting on an injury settlement that is a ways off and may not come before my house is in foreclosure. (It is a tiny house but keeps me safe from the elements) My sales dropped so much since October that I do not have enough to make any house payments right now. So if you can share my GoFundMe page on Social Media I would appreciate it.

I have tried gov and charity organizations and since I have no kids living in my home I do not quality for any help according to state guidelines. One reason so many are homeless and living under bridges.

Here is my GoFundMe page for anyone that can help share my link on social media.

Thank you to those who can help share! And have a great day!

i'm not sure what disability you have, but you may be able to contact a dept that specializes in that thing. companies can't fire someone because of an impairment.

So sorry, Andee! I don't know about your state, but can you collect SSI? Supplemental Security Income? I really feel for you and your predicament. Do you have any family to help you? Would you consider selling your home and moving into an apartment?

I'll be happy to tweet your GoFundMe for you, but have you tried finding work online at all? There are ways to make some cash, though certainly not a ton, by freelance writing, working for sites like Fiver (the trick is to offer pricier "upgrades"), or even answering surveys. Have you considered selling your art through any third-party sites?

Jessica Jenney

Andee, have you tried to license your work with a publishing company online? You could submit samples of your work for their review. If accepted you would receive quarterly royalty payments

Or setting up an Amazon store?

Mike I was not fired, the company I got the injury with lost contracts and closed the lot I was on and I can not get a job anywhere else. I was about to no longer be able to do it there as well. The work comp docs do not want to say you are fully disabled for fear of losing people sent to them.

Jessica thanks for looking up those for me but sadly for some reason SSI has to wait for the hearing too which I do not understand.

I have a Disability Lawyer and Work Comp Lawyer. Thankfully those lawyers you pay only once you collect something. It is just hard to wait and fear of losing my home!

I appreciate the kindness in trying to help!

what i mean is, a company can't not hire you because of a disability. you may be able to contact a place that deals with people with disabilities and finding jobs for them.

http://www.ada.gov/workta.htm not sure if this helps any
http://www.dol.gov/dol/topic/disability/jobsearch.htm or this

i think you said in the past you removed yourself from other sites because you weren't getting sales. you have, go back on to them.

Andee, I'm sorry to hear this is happening to you. If you're able to work from home, I have a couple of friends who have worked for a company called Lionbridge verifying the content of websites. You may want to consider looking in to them.

Susan I have been answering surveys and get 3 bucks for each one completed. I tried that some time ago and was never able to get any money but from the one I can get 3 for each one that a friend told me able. I had to close one email from all the smap I got signing up for all those places. But I might do one or two of those a month. Those are gaged by age and I think I am reaching the age you do not get that many from.

Jessica I did not seem to have any success with licensing. I have been asked few times but what they want I could not offer to be licensed.

Here is a site where you can set up a profile and bid on jobs from home. Maybe you can use your photoshop skills. If you put your website in as a reference to your work you may even get some sales.

I have been having trouble with my computer and limping this one along. I will look into the links you gave and see if it is something I can do.

My photoshop skills are somewhat limited as to what I can do. Not sure I am good enough or see well enough to do some things now.

Thanks again for the links everyone I appreciate it!

I feel your pain, so sorry for your hardship. Two years ago I was forced to give up a great paying career to care for a child that is disabled. SSI does not pay enough. It is tough! There are telecommuting jobs but they are hard to get, I am still looking. Good luck to you!

Mike I doubt he is! Not sure I could do any job he would have available tho. I am having more and more trouble with my eyes I need new glasses and that will have to wait until I get some kind of income.

Debra thank for your kind words! And sorry for your struggles as well!

Andee my husband works for a bank in a department that adjusts mortgage payments for people with situations like yours. There are several programs that might help you out. This was unheard of 10 years ago but when the economy became so terrible and hundreds of thousands of people were losing their homes the government stepped in. Contact your bank. You may be able to have several hundred dollars taken off your payment. Worth a call.

Andee Design

Thanks Karyn. But because I have no income they will not work with me. They want me to do something they call a quick sale for less than what it is worth or hand it over to them. Once I have Social Security DIsability payment each month. one lady at a charity (one of the many that only helps folks with kids in the home) that she can then help me get my payments lowered but with no income they (the mortgage holder) will not do anything. :(

Contact your Senators or Representatives. They can sometimes get the ball moving quicker on this. Consider emailing RV stations and newspapers with your story. Contact local churches and charities. I'd love to be able to donate but with all of my troubles this year, the only thing keeping me with a roof over my head is my sister letting me have a room for a while

Done, Andee. I'm gonna Tweet it now. I know your struggle (as far as SSDI...already approved though)...I have been on and off since 1994. Work attempts, school....now I've got the back injury on top of the other stuff, so I will just stay on. No one can say I didn't try my best the last 20 years though.

I agree with Joseph....contact your Representative and let him/her know of your plight. I know you can write a good letter. Could possibly get your case moved up for a determination because of the extreme hardship. It's great that you've been to the SSDI doc for the exam...things should speed up a bit now. Good luck...I'll be praying daily :)

Thank you Joy! The doc I saw was for the injury lawyer his advocate doc. As for SSD and SSI I have to wait until Feb 2016. My lawyer for disability told me that because there are so many homeless in my state they will not move them up any sooner. They have clients that are currently living under bridges right now.

Joy sorry you have dealt with so much but glad you have the SSI to help you some.

I just noticed this thread, Andee. I am so sorry for your troubles...with the GoFUndMe....acct. do you have to get to your targeted amount to receive anything? You have a substantial amount of money pledged but nowhere near what you are needing. I help you can get what is there at least. That should help.
Are you a veteran? If so you might look into the programs they have for veterans .....I know my home is so important to me...and to most people, so I really can feel your pain and frustration.

Someone suggested contacting your senator or representative....you might be amazed at how they can help. That's how Strom Thurman got elected over and over...he helped people who needed it. You just need the right person going to bat for you. I will pass on your GoFundMe site at least. I wish I had tons of money for you..good luck...I will send you prosperous energy...ever read Joel Goldsmith? It's interesting stuff.

I just looked at the GoFundMe questions..it says you can get money as it is being donated...you have some money you can get. How much is your house payment? I know you need at least two months worth , maybe three but....perhaps the bank will take a partial payment, to delay any repossession getting started. Just a thought.

Thanks Kip!

Thank you Patricia!

Thank you David!

Patricia I used what you see there already. It made the house payments when I had enough those other months. So all that I have is gone now. I am looking at 3 months behind this coming months if I can not get enough for my house this time which I am trying hard to do because I have been told they can start to foreclosure after 3 in a row. I am not a veteran. And I tried contacting a politician and that backfired. And I got chewed out for doing so by the lady that works for my lawyer I did not have at the time I wrote the letter. Too much to say here but needless to say that was a mess. Contacting news stations did not help either. But using all in my account for the house I am at risk of no money for the other important bills...catch 22 as they say.

Thanks to everyone again that has donated I appreciate you all so much and to the many that have been sharing this on social media it means a lot! Thank you so much. It is getting to that scary feeling again.

The latest on my injury suit...My deposition for my injury suit is not until the close to the end of the month the advocate doctor report is still not in. So any settlement will not be as soon as I need it. This was all delayed it was supposed to be last month but they canceled it hoping the report would get there before. So tried of this agonising wait.

Thanks again everyone!

Oh and the bank wants me to sell the house and get less that it is worth or give it to them... Not giving up that fast. They have been no help.

Andee, here's a thought: try Indiegogo.

I thought of Indiegogo for you while reading a story at one of my favorite websites, "Cracked". "Cracked" is a humor site derived from a magazine that, in its original form, was kind of a MAD Magazine imitator. But as a website, Cracked has grown to be its own thing, and a very funny thing at that. There are some great columnists there - some who can make you laugh, and some who can teach you a few things about life.

One of its contributors, Felix Clay, is BOTH kinds of columnists. He writes for - and gets paid by - Cracked on a regular basis, and is one of its most popular authors. Just the same, he's in a financial bind - $25,000 worth of old student loans - and, in regards to that, he recently wrote a column about debt, which was funny, but also a plea for help. Here is that column: http://www.cracked.com/blog/4-pitfalls-to-avoid-when-youre-seriously-in-debt_p2/

To deal with his debt, Felix has turned to Indiegogo - and he's not only asking for help, he's offering "perks" to those who help him. In his case, it's writing stories and other, wackier stuff. I was wondering...what if you try Indiegogo and offer some of your best art to your donors as a perk? It's worth a shot, don't you think?

Here's his Indiegogo page: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/felix-clay-s-creative-debt-relief#/story

I am not much of a writer JL. Thanks for the tip. I have written a children's book but my brain is mush right now with worry so I could not even right a kids book if I wanted too. I keep getting bad new after bad news. The mortgage company sent me a letter that makes it sound like if I do not pay months back mortgage payment that they can foreclosed now. Everyone else told me 3 was the amount. I was going to go for broke and pay this month but if it is too lat without all not sure about it. I will contact them even tho I am scared to death they just want me to do a quick sell or give them my house. Not going to give up so quick. This is not long term it is just delayed.

Andee, hang in there. It takes a long time for them to take your house, and they would rather not do it because they lose money big time and have to keep up the property and pay the taxes, etc.

I'm hoping something breaks for you soon. You've been waiting far too long for things to get settled.

Andee Design

Thanks Mary. I still wonder if the letters are more of 'We are going to get you now!' coming from the bank... or if I have time to make it up before I get kicked out? Very scary and stressful! All this waiting for the boom to fall is hard. Right now it is dangling up there by a thread! ;(

J L Meadows

Andee, I was NOT suggesting you write columns for Cracked. I was suggesting that you go to Indiegogo, set up an account, and offer your work as perks for people who contribute to you.

Thanks for the bump David!

I am still in waiting of my Social Security Disability hearing that will not happen until after February 2016 due to the required one year wait for all hearings. I am also waiting on work injury settlement as well. Sad to say I am still in need for funds to stay in my house. With help from donation I was able to pay September but I am still 2 months behind and getting more and more ugly letters for the mortgage company about foreclosure.

If you can please promote my GoFundMe link on your social media and ask others to promote it as well I would appreciate it so very much. Since I am currently I behind 2 months to make my October payment to be able to stop it from going into foreclosure. This all scares me to death as you can imagine. This is not a forever thing even tho at the moment it feels like it. I need help just until I get settlement or SSD whichever comes first.

Thanks to all those who have supported me in in promoting my link on social media and to those that donate to try to help me have a place to live and also be able to keep my kitties. I am so afraid of losing my home for so many reasons but I do not want to have to get rid of my pets. They have been there with unconditional love no matter what is going on. I have had people tell me they will not live forever like they do not matter but they matter to me.

Thanks again for your help and support.

My latest GFM Update

Tomorrow is my injury deposition. So stressful and not sure what it will do for speeding up the work injury settlement because the advocate doctor report is not back yet. My case is not the norm so that is one reason is it taking longer I guess, but the doctor also moved after I saw him over 9 weeks ago. I think 4 weeks is the average to get those reports back but mine is more complicated. This has nothing to do with my Social Security Disability hearing that will still not take place until after Feb of 2016.

With the help from all of you kinds folks we were able to pay one month of the mortgage this past month. I am still 2 months behinds. Not enough for them and I am still getting threatening letters of losing my home from the collection department of the mortgage company.

If you can help in any way we would be ever so grateful!

Thanks!

Andee, I think I mentioned this to you sometime back but I can't remember. When my home business wasn't doing very well, I was able to scrape up extra money and keep my mortgage paid up by doing something call MTurking. It's a crowd work site. You do repetitive tasks that pay .01 and up. You can set it up so that money goes directly from Amazon to your checking account. Although most tasks pay within a few days to a week, they can take up to 30 days to pay. Sometimes you make $3 in an hour; sometimes you can make $100. It depends on what the tasks are, how many there are, how good you are at it, et cetera, et cetera. If you really spend some time learning the ins and outs, you can make a fairly regular income. It is totally legit. While the vast majority of people doing it are college kids or people who just want a little pocket money, it is actually possible to make a reasonable living at it if you're willing to put in full-time hours and really learn the ropes.

Here's the main website:

Then join this forum and read it like a bible:

Thank you Mary , Kip and Deborah I appreciate the support and ideas!

I will post the last two updates form my GFM page.

UPDATE #17

I received a letter from my disability attorney's office on Thursday. My Social Security Disability hearing that I was told would not be until after February 2016 is set for January 6th 2016. So it is a month sooner. That is great! I still have a few months to get by, and hope that I am awarded disability assistance after the hearing. I will not be told the determination at the hearing if I get it or am denyed again. I have to wait one to three months for the verdict of this hearing.

Thanks again to everyone who has supported me through all of this. I could not have made as many house payments without you and I am ever so grateful!

I have one local older friend who specifically said to send a big thanks to all of you for your help to me!

Thanks again for the funds and sharing of my link on social media!

The most recent and more of a personal note was about my beloved cat Pepper. We had to say goodbye to her On Friday. Her best friend and big sis Emmy is lost and heartbroken without her and not wanting to eat too much. She has been doing a little better today.

Thanks again to everyone who has helped and continues to support us through all of this!
