I am mostly a cat.

Lisa Kaiser

I feel like a cat too, and I take photos to motivate me, but I'm defined by my paintings.

Kevin Callahan

I am mostly a painter, but also a writer. I've probably sold enough e books to buy a nice bottle of wine, so I will stick with painter.

Janine Riley

Also a Cat - a blue eyed cat , sometimes a Purple Zebra or a Blue Rose.

I am a Watercolorist. Who is compelled to paint my photographs into Photographic Art.
I prefer to live in the world of " not quite reality ".

I am a painter. I have never claimed to be a photographer, yet I have around 1,000 photographic images on faa as well as other sites and have sold many, been in photography shows and won an award or two.Though I enjoy my iphone capabilities, nothing replaces a brush in hand.

Mary Bedy

Photographer here, with a drawing side. Used to be an oil painter.....the overtime killed that activity several years ago, but I found I'm more a natural photographer than a natural painter.

If I were a thing, I would be a nice piece of beautiful agate, or a nice big chunk of Malachite.

Angelina Tamez

I do not define myself by any single attribute or thing I enjoy doing.

Darice Machel McGuire

I'm an island girl posing as a painter and art teacher on the island of Maui.

Lisa Kaiser

This is really enjoyable to read, I hope more people respond.

Kathleen Bishop

Mary, you are my kind of rocks!

April Moen

Digital painter mostly as far as art is concerned.

Ronald Walker

Guess I should have said "As far as art is concerned!"

Mario Carta

Depends on who you ask Ronald? .......I mainly sculpt in copper, although my creativity runs over into other aspects of my life, like creative thinking and I seldom follow any crowd, I cook, and have my own way of finding solutions to problems. I am against government control, censorship and rules that restrain or hinder complete freedom of artistic expression.I am for living and letting live, I think wars are man's most foolish invention and I don't have any hang up about my work reflecting that ideology or who my work offends and or for what ever reason,to me that's what it means to be an artist. That's What I am, and this is my answer to your question.

Ronald Walker

Mario, very well thought out!

Currently, I am someone in the midst of empty nest syndrome who oftentimes bakes cookies. When not feeling sorry for myself, I go out and take more pictures.

Once upon a time I was a writer, photographer, musician and singer, and upwardly-mobile member of Corporate America.

These days, I'm a writer, digital artist and photographer (currently without a camera . . . so that may not count). I only sing to myself, and am, apparently, downwardly mobile.

I'm also an over-thinking insomniac, dreamer, and sleepwalker. All of which contributes, greatly, to my being a writer and artist.

Life is a cool, crazy, circle. ;-)

EDIT to add -- I believe everything is 'as far as art is concerned'. It takes everything you are to make a picture, write a book, sing a song . . .

@ Mike, being a handyman is a very lucrative business, even contractors in my area advertise themselves as handyman, I'm talking $100. per hour or more, flexible hours, no boss, you call the shots. Some times it pays to be a jack of all trades and a master of none.I should know, I've been doing it for years. Certainly 15 hours days are out of the question. Sorry Ronald for going off topic.

Mary Armstrong

Painter with lots of drawings, too plus my favorite subject is horses!

Valerie Reeves

My education and professional background are graphic design with a special focus on illustration. Most of my work for the last few years has been photography and digital manipulation of photography.

I'm a wanna be artist, painting mainly. Although I've done many pet commissions, a few landscapes, and am even represented by a gallery, I am still struggling to find who/what I am as an artist.
I started my artistic journey late in life, been painting for about 7 yrs. now. I know it is what I am supposed to do with the rest of my life(I feel that way), but am still struggling to paint what my creative side is trying to let out. Self taught, so still learning and reaching everyday. Not sure any of that makes sense, but then I rarely do, lol.

Jennifer Gruhl

I consider myself a visual artist. I love drawing, painting, photography plus digitally editing my photos. I like experimenting with mixed media too. I sometimes find its hard to define/explain my art. It's much easier just to show people.

What I am mostly now is old and tired. In between I am a photographer and owner of 4 big dogs, and a wife who is always in motion.

I am enigmatic...

Shelby Young

Photographer :)

Musician, photographer and teacher...but mostly teacher 9 months of the year. I do believe they all work together and have an impact on each other though...which is why I list them all. I'm also a high level slacker...reading and writing in the forums instead of doing laundry and the price increase I planned on doing today ;)

Painter/ Illustrator turned photographic artist but likely inching back the other direction of late so the jury is out if I will remain as immersed in photography. Need to find the right balance. Background is commercial art/ freelance. Love designing and creative problem solving so over the years created T-shirt designs, posters, ads, wedding banners, paintings, drawings, even architectural ( co-designed a house with my husband that we built) and interior remodeling designs. Enjoy cooking, baking bread and embroidery too. Write a bit, mostly poetry. Into studying theology, nature and volunteer as a photographer at a no kill animal shelter.

I am just me - I am what I am - and who I am - sometimes I'd like to be someone else - but not often. Most of my 'artistic life' I've been a watercolor painter - turned illegitimate photographer - and now a fine art digital artist. Visit my AW site and see - tell your friends - you know someone who would like to be an artist of some note - and not one to my mother - please.

Melissa Herrin

I am a painter ever since childhood. Good or bad I will probably die with a paintbrush in my hand.

Well....I try to be a photographer but I am certainly an accomplished socialized hermit!

Lesley DeHaan

I draw, paint and computer graphic when the fancy strikes but I'm happiest when I'm scrolling through a fresh batch of concert photos; deciding which will go on Instagram, FB, Twitter, Snapchat, Flickr, FAA or stay in my personal collection. My followers in each like/expect a different look or subject so I do my best to deliver. :D

Marlene Burns

Tony, Tony, Tony. No man is an island.

Timothy Ruf

I am an artist. I am not limited to photography or painting or a combination of either. I create in a number of media; graphic, music, multi-media. Art.

Roy Erickson

Marlene - I'm not sure I am not an 'inhabited' island - the world simply crashes all around me - wearing me away.

Valerie Reeves

If we go by the definition that one of my design professors preferred, we are ALL visual communicators.

Delilah Downs

I am Wonder Woman--I do things that make people wonder about me. (Not always in a good way!)

If you want to talk creativity, try being a mom. There isn't a good mother in existence who isn't extremely creative in many capacities. If you are a mom who has a full-time job outside the house, and whose household includes horses, goats, dogs, cats, kids who think it's fun to ride bulls, and a hubby in a rock band, your creativity levels increase exponentially. It's a simple matter of survival. Take my word for it.

If you want the mundane answer, I am a painter, a photographer, and a writer.
