Description
This title is meant to have more than one meaning. I painted this at the Port Townsend Ferry Terminal dock. Pt. Townsend is located in Washington State directly across Puget Sound, and west of Whidbey Island. It's a beautiful town complete with Victorian red brick buildings. You can walk on the ferry on the Whidbey side and get off in Pt. Townsend and take in a movie, or eat out. For this reason, I think of Pt. Townsend as an annex of Whidbey. I have Bob, the ferry worker portrayed, staring over the railing like he's just lost his wife. Thus, another meaning for "Terminal." Many people know Bob and his wife and they're known as a happy couple, so don't take my words here as having serious meaning. To complete the feeling I wanted to convey, I added an overcast sky with just a hint of sunlight on the horizon. This is a common sight in this area. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how neon the yellow and red look. I did not add special colors. I think they look that way because they're surrounded by dark color.
