Description
A shot from Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia in a park near the Four Mile Beach
Here we have a Rainbow Bee Eater (Merops ornatus).
Not a typical perch for a photo but I rather like the mix of the modern steel with the stunningly beautiful colorful bird.
The bokeh background is provided by a Paperbark tree (Melaleuca spp), a stunning tree, resembling a Eucalyptus, but unrelated, with a soft bark often hanging off in huge multilayered sheets

Beautiful portrait photo of a colorful Bee Eater, with great light, colors, dof, perspective, bokah background, and composition. I agree that the sturdy perch offers a great contrast to the soft and delicate Bee Eater, adding to the interest of the photograph! Nice work, Mr. Kent! f/l

What a great combination: A beautiful Rainbow Bee Eater, perfectly captured on a chain (of all things!), and set against a nicely blurred background that picks up the colors in the chain and the bird. Kudos, Mr. Bennett Kent, for a job so well done.
