Description
Here we have the white-lipped tree frog (Litoria infrafrenata), AKA the Giant tree frog. Not all of Australia is dry and barren and in the nNorth estern corner of queensland, you find some of the largest tropical rainforest in the world and they support many forms of wildlife you would expect to find in a wet climate. This is an impressive tree frog up to 5 inches in length with the most remarkable colours. The horseshoe shape behind its eye is the tympanic membrane, or eardrum which is present in all frogs, but much more visible than most in this species. frogs have acute hearing and will normally make themselves scarce if they hear any potential predators approaching. I adore these bright and beautiful creatures and I do hope you share my appreciation of them :0)
