Description
Into the eyes of the beast!
Well, not strictly speaking a beast, this is my pet Mediterranean Spur Thighed Tortoise, William, who recently woke up from his 3 month sleep over the winter hibernation.
He completely buried himself in the soil of his pen in the Winter and this is him taken just after he had emerged and still covered in the soil.
I have chosen a very shallow Depth of Field to isolate the eyes in this shot and rather like the effect! It is also interesting to see the faint iridescence which reptile skin sometimes exhibits
