Show Us Your Self-portraits!

As artists, we know the selfie is not a new invention. Maybe the cell phone and Facebook have made the self portrait reach mass culture interest levels but the art word has always had room for self portraiture from Chuck Close to Cindy Sherman to Rembrandt etc.

Now show us your "selfies"! (please, remember the kids - keep it clean - keep your clothes on please or not)

Here are the only two self portraits I have uploaded here. One is my avatar. I've been thinking it may be time to make a new one though.

Thanks for the participants so far.

Hmmm I think we have a lot of shy people around here. Live a little, have some fun! What better way to engage your public then with a self-portrait that puts yourself out there.

I'm a big fan of experimenting on myself before doing things with other people.
Not in the weird way that sounded though. 😁😊😆

Self Portrait:

In my practice I use a variety of mediums to make art and I wanted to create an image that could illustrate this. While experimenting with ways to combine drawing and photography, I created this self portrait which seamlessly unites the two. This artwork is an example of the endless possibilities that art has to offer in our modern digital age.

This is a 3D stereo crossview. The method for viewing is to have the entire side-by-side image within view and gently converge (cross), your eyes and focus on the middle image that appears while ignoring the outside. This is similar to those "magic eye" type of images you may have seen before. Not everyone is successful with this viewing method, but if you are, it becomes easier each time and soon will become 2nd nature...

Possessed by Brian Wallace

If you have not yet been successful 'freeviewing' this 3D stereo format, here is a video tutorial that may help...
http://3dvision-blog.com/how-to-view-stereo-3d-photos-and-videos-with-the-crossview-method/

Successfully viewing this X-View, allowing you to perceive depth in the image will absolutely blow your mind. Good luck!
