Next Time Your In Target...

take a look in the card section. I got a report from my mother-in-law in Bozeman, Mt that she spotted my Circus Clown Dog photograph on a Carlton Card. (Must have been licensed from one of my agencies).

Fun to have people spot my work out there in the wild. Most of the time stuff gets licensed and you never see where it ends up.

I don't know whether I would love that - or it would freak me out.

But he's adorable either which way. Yeah, cool to have people spot you out . " I know him ! " . Lol

cute ! photo Ed. So I am wondering...if we license an image its possible we won't know who or where its going? Hhmmmmm!

No when you license through an agency you won't know who bought it or the exact use. I search the net for them sometimes. My big regret is not doing screen saves instead of bookmarks when I found them because the web sites change. Congrats Edward I will keep an eye out for your westie.

Thanks!

If you do a big deal like license artwork for a product line or something, and negotiate back and forth then you might know more details. Rights managed type work.

But for RF type sales you most likely will never see it. It might not even get out of the planning stage. The work might be used as a possibility, end up in a presentation or mock up or even just sit on the designer's hard drive for possible future use.

Then again you might be surfing around and run into it.

Congrats Ed, how exciting is that! What a happy photo it brought a smile to my face. I will just have to hint to all my friends exactly what birthday card I want to receive on November 25. I will give everyone a clue and only one clue and will wait and see if they get it right and select your image. Cheer, Michael Hoard

Congratulations, that is really cool but what scares me is you didn't know about it. Don't they tell you when someone licenses or buys your images?

John - With Rights Managed sales I get a monthly report with a copy (image) of the finished product (book cover for example), with RF sales you don't get any info about the licensee.

Neat to see your stuff in the store! I'll hurry on down and buy one since they change cards fairly frequently.
