Apparitions In Photos

I was doing legal weed in the State of Washington, when I saw these two images.

Jetje, I have some, but have never posted them on FAA. I do get a lot of attention on Facebook for my posts, but I remove them if they cause controversy or make others angry with me. I will try to find the one that I took in my art studio and post it if this thread doesn't get shut down. I don't want Abby angry with me, she works too hard to have to babysit us all the time with respect to religion.

That is a really interesting phioto, Robert. Its colors are so bright.

Nothing at all to do with the R word.

I agree, Robert. I was far from any religious debate. However, pixels forming something that looks recognizable in a photograph is part of the nature of technology. Or the figure is actually in nature...like leaves flickering in images, as leaves rotate in wind and shadows. Or for instance, My Breath on a dew night. So, l cant imagine why someone would be offended based on religion., with such great imagination.

I am afflicted with deep depression at times. During one such episode as I walked down the street, the apparition seen below passed me by and screamed. I managed to take one photograph of her before she simply vanished.

That is some crazy lighting. :-)

An apparitional experience is an anomalous, quasi-perceptual experience. It is characterized by the apparent perception of either a living being or an inanimate object without there being any material stimulus for such a perception. The person experiencing the apparition is awake....

I've had three such experiences in my long life time.
One such was of a prisoner...
I described this image to my pal who is a very good artist. He then drew, very accurately I must say, my apparition. I then photographed it and just today uploaded it to Fine Art America.

Here it is....it's of a prisoner...Perhaps it's of myself as I have been in jails in 3 different states (not all at once and many decades ago in my misspent youth)...

Hi Jetje, I thought this happened to me the other day ...something in the photo that shouldn't have been...looked very shadowy and figure like... and then I realized something had gotten on the lens it was in all my shots that day.

I was confronted by a very sad apparition during one of my photo trips along an isolated lake in the State of Washington. I can still feel the touch of her hand when she stopped me and dug her fingernails into my arm.

This is what she said to me...

From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were -- I have not seen
As others saw -- I could not bring
My passions from a common spring --
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow -- I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone --
And all I lov'd -- I lov'd alone --



Her gaze tore into my heart. I will never forget it.

Kevin...I don't know if I am imagining it or not but I can see a small image of a man with a hat and long white flowing hair in the fireplace hole in the upper right hand corner.

This probably the craziest thing that has happened in my family as far as photos go. This photo was taken of a bonfire and this is what we got...I post the link as I do not have it on FAA

I do have a very fantastical story but some may find it to unbelievable but I will share it anyway. This occurred some 6 years ago, A family member became mentally ill quite sudden, actually over night, totally lost her mind. Doctors were extremely stumped by the case. Well many strange and supernatural things began to occur with this person who lived with us, from ramblings of speech of things she could not know, to bouts of hearing that was impossible, like hearing and answering people talking at a distance. I began taking photo's of her to document strange events. Injuries began to appear on her body, I would take photo's of the injuries and they would disappear the next day. I further began taking photo's when she would have violent episodes. In going over the photo's I happened to magnify them on my computer screen and what I discovered was terrifying. It was a world I never imagined possible, it was like a fantasy world of little creatures half animal half human. These creatures were on different parts of her body but mainly near or around her head and in the area of the ears. Little creatures with hats, a variety of them. I knew this was something demonic or at least that's what I felt it was. I summoned a group of experts and they drove several hours to come and investigate. Well I'm leaving a lot of things out, but I showed my images which I had stored on my computer and the team was astonished so much that they began to doubt the images and questioned if I had made them on my computer. They used numerous techniques in their evidence searching but not much of incident happened while they were here for 4 hours. I further consulted with several Church Clergy and finally I decided to destroy the images and all traces of it. The person has been seen by numerous medical professionals but these incidents lasted for two years until we let the Church handle the situation, we still care for this person but no other incidents have occurred. The photo's I took also showed creatures and objects on the walls of the house in the room she resided. This unbelievable experience has shown me that their are real forces of evil and good that exist all around us, sometimes they are attracted by certain individuals for very specific reasons and further that they can be caught with digital cameras. No I'm not on drugs and no I'm not crazy and I have never been a superstitious person.

Interesting discussion Jetje,,,,this is one of my most compelling images....its obvious low light and shutter speed caused this image, but the double image which appears speaks for itself, I see three faces,,,,all these images are what out brains perceives the image to be but we all do see different images. Pretty much like when we see images of faces in clouds they are just clouds but lighting and shadows create actual images...

When I turned around and caught this image I was a bit alarmed by it.....I was taking photos of waves on the lake and watching the clouds roll in, then I turn around and caught this image a demonic image.....

I am a street photography. So I bump up against many such apparitions roaming the streets. I spotted her when she was about 10 yards from me. As she came closer and closer, I heard her mumbling....the longer you live, the tougher it gets....over and over she hissed this dirge...the longer you live, the tougher it gets....



Now I echo her voice....and say it over and over and over....the longer you live, the tougher it gets....

Everyones images are very interesting. And a lot of fun! I started looking for faces, after my sister showed me a picture of fire, that had 5 or 6 distinct figures...that was as a teenager.

This is the last apparition I will post here. I feel compelled to show it.
TRANQUILITY OF MIND...I've noticed this young girl at least 5 times this year. She is a musician performing with a group at a local farmers market that we attend on weekends. The 4 previous times she looked very tired and very sad.

But this Sunday, she transformed herself into a lovely, serene young girl. Beautiful child. An apparition of peace, compassion and love....



It is always best to end with an apparition of tranquility. However, when I showed my wife this image, she swore she had never seen this girl at any of the farmers markets we attend! How odd.

Could it be that my mind simply projected this beautiful child without there being any material stimulus for such a perception? Is tranquility only a dream?

I don't have the image with me, but a friend took a photo of my sister leaning on my parents' headstone and there is a golden glow over her head and coming out her back. The camera was digital, so can't blame it on a film glitch. It's very creepy.

This is not quite an apparition, but a very odd occurrence. I wrapped my then 9 year old daughter in a gauzy cloth and took her picture. Then I ran it through PS's Cutout and this is what happened. No special lighting or other effects were used at any point:

@Roberta, it's been an amazing journey. The person is still with us at age 80 and still in our care over 10 years now, these type of occurrences are rare and one has a choice of looking at it like a curse or a blessing.This turned our world upside down to the point of questioning every thing one has learned in life, but what you walk away with from these experiences is a knowledge of things that most people never have the opportunity to believe, because even if you relate this type of experience only very few people would have the capacity to believe it. It's never been a need for me or the others that witnessed these events to be believed. The incident itself was enough.

Our minds are always ever trying to make sense of its surroundings and makes some objects/shapes look like things that are not really there. I would have to see a definitive image that cannot be explained away before I would say its a ghost. But that's just me.

A few years ago I was taking pictures with my first digital camera of fire out camping. When I reviewed in the camera what I have taken, I saw this image and I nearly dropped my camera. I couldn't sleep a wink that night as I heard all kinds of bumps in the night. No one else that night could see the face in the image but me.

Since then I have taken thousands of fire images and some of them turned out rather well but I have never seen another image that shocked me as much. Can you see the face or is it just me?

I see the "face" Wes, but don't worry... I don't see any teeth!

I woke with a start. I heard screaming, calls for help. It was a nightmare, but the sinister apparition was still in my mind's eye. I went to my desk and did my best to sketch this nightmarish image. Then I photographed it....This is what I saw in my nightmare....as good is my witness.

I find it fasinating how the mind isolates and creates new images by nature. Expecially in photo. Youtube has a lot of people who have posted old photos, and films. These people are claiming the photos contain modernesque attired men and women. They call them time travelers. Interesting at the least...

l have an affinity for old photos, though. And as far as ghosts, l dont believe in them. Ive had "paranormal experiences". I tend not to Believe in anything. I prefer reality and proof. l completely agree. Spooks are fun though.

I restored this 62 yr old snapshot of my mother carrying me through the woods on one of our family hikes. It's easy to think the areas of glare are spiritual apparitions...

That photo is beautiful. All aspects of its lighting are glamorous.
