I thank you Janel, I find subtle very hard ...too ! I try to do painting and always put it too much detail I tried to paint this Rose like it was see through and a glass rose... but i still did not think it was subtle enough. I feel that this dissatisfaction Janel is what makes us artist paint again and again as the out come sometimes never matches up with the minds eye, of what you wish to paint so we try again and again. I keep on thinking say more with less I try to half finish paints but this some times works like this Rose but I still want more subtle Lovely to talk again keep painting I am try to put together an exhibition by September actually..... 2 on duo and then a group with some students . Arr it is a hard discipline to paint every day Keep happy and safe and paint away :)

This piece is amazing to me because the various shades and colors are so subtle and I don't know how to do subtle!! I really respect it because I know how hard it is to pull that off.

Your site is great Juan .... are you now painting full time ? I still teach but am painting far more since joining this site as all the wonderful work ,like yours is so inspirational ! makes me want to paint more

How kind thank you Constance , I have enjoyed and fav. your work also before and agree that Rene might enjoy a reference to his beautiful glass art I so enjoyed to hold and admire while growing up in England my G Gertrude's dressing table Lalique glass ...one green figure of a art deco woman was my Favorited piece ,yes such beauty.... but smaller pink glass ring dish that the color was so beautiful when the light filtered through it.... stuck in my mind so..... that is what inspired this rose as my family name for girls is Rose . Your journey and CV is so lovely to reread and your art a joy to be able to share thank you again and I hope 2012 is a fab year of art for you . Cheers Sandra
