Hi there. I'm new to the discussion forum, so please forgive me if I have made a mistake.
I was hoping someone could help me find some prints?
There is a comic called "This is Fine" and it is of a (what I assume to be) dog in a room that is on fire and the dog saying this is fine.
However, I don't really like the actual artwork, I just like the meaning behind it.
I am looking for artwork that kind of describes the mentality the dog has: that the world around him/her may be crumbling (or in this case burning) but that we often put on a face of being fine? Maybe something that is open to interpretation but really gets the brain thinking?
I was hoping to find someone that had created artwork with the same kind of mentality, whether it is more abstract or a picture or whatever. Some form of art that I can purchase (hopefully for fairly inexpensively) and frame to put on the wall would be fantastic.
Is anyone able to help? Any suggestions or anything?
I really appreciate all the help in advance, thanks!

Hi Ben
You will find virtually anything you can imagine here. There will be myriad artists that will likely respond to your thread.
Welcome

Abbie,
Do the following:
In the topic list, where you see the profile-picture place holder over the name, "Ben M", ... CLICK on that place holder and observe that you are directed to YOUR profile.
But ... if you click on the topic that "Ben M" posts, and then click on the profile-picture placeholder there, then you arrive a profile that has ZERO image content.
This seems suspicious to me.

Bizarre!!
Now the profile-picture placeholder over the poster's name in the TOPIC list leads to David Bridbirg's profile.

Sounds to me as if you like quirky. Here links to a couple of artists that come to mind.

Now Newwman's.
Try doing what I suggested:
In the TOPIC list, click on the picture-placeholder (the blue splatter-looking thingie), and see where this click leads you.
It is leading ME to everybody's profile EXCEPT the profile of a "Ben M", and it is a DIFFERENT profile, every separate time that I click on it.

Robert! Please read what I said! This happens if a collector comes in. It's a glitch of the forum!
I can see he is a collector. Drop now
Sorry Ben.

Many of my images are tongue in cheek or have some humor. I don't have exactly what you describe, but I have a sort of a "facing the impossible with determination" type image:
And this one. Forge onward no matter how bad it gets. Or maybe, know when to stop trying before things really get bad. :)
EDIT: Thought of one more; about knowing when to let things go and take a different direction:

Let me look, and maybe I can come up with something.

I immediately thought of Leah but I see Nikolyn has already given you her link. You will like Leah's work I think.

Nikolyn, thanks for the suggestions!
Unfortunately, I am not so much a fan of the quirky, and more so a fan of abstract or realism. That's why I haven't ordered a print of just the "This is Fine" comic. It's a little, odd to me. Nothing against whomever created it, but the art itself is not my favorite. The message it states, however, is very cool to me.
Edward, it isn't. I can see how you might think it is though. I just found the "This is Fine" comic to be extremely relatable. Especially in my personal schooling situation... and would like a piece of art or something similar, at least, to remind me that it is okay to not be fine.

Humans portray life as just fine, when we start dying the day we are born, ... since we are in an eternal cycle of birth/rebirth, which can also be interpreted as a cycle of creation/destruction, ... where fire is often a symbol of that destruction, but, in MY images, the skeleton is the symbol of that creative destruction.

Not exactly the "This is Fine", but perhaps some thing like these?
Yes you've hit Wrong Turn Rd, but it leads to wonderful imaginative places

So abstract or realistic that has, for you, the message that "it is okay to not be fine".
Can you give us more help? Do you like things with an industrial feel? Still lifes? Landscapes? Retro look? Do you have a favorite animal or color or anything that would help you narrow things down?
So many fine artists of all kinds here - I'm sure you will find something just right. Enjoy the search :)

Interesting takes on all of them! I appreciate all the replies. Feel free to throw more my way. I really enjoy looking at each, regardless of whether or not I intend to purchase it.

It's always very interesting to see how we all think that certain of our artworks relate to the theme asked for.
Some of the presented responses seem to be quite a stretch.
The thread starter, "Ben M", asked for the following:
I am looking for artwork that kind of describes the mentality the dog has: that the world around him/her may be crumbling (or in this case burning) but that we often put on a face of being fine? Maybe something that is open to interpretation but really gets the brain thinking?
Note the sentence: "The world around him/her may be crumbling, but we often put on a face of being fine." ... The art being asked for, thus, seems to require some symbolism about a crumbling or decaying or burning world that we humans deny, in order to survive. .. Our coping mechanism is to put a face of "fine" even in the face of destruction.

I have nothing like the top post is asking for. But it's been great to go through my work to check as Ive seen some glaring keyword omissions, so thank you for that, Ben lol

Ben, I highly suggest you have a browse around (stick in some keywords that might pertain to the style you are looking for). If you find an artist who's style you like, contact them directly and ask if they do commissions. I'd say most do. Then you can have something made just for you.

Hello Ben,
I created these pieces in response to the movie Matrix, regarding the hubris of mankind. The have a end of the world feeling, but it's not decayed, it's still working. I thought it may qualify?

I almost started doing a search for you...but I realized your request is highly subjective. You will have to find the piece that you connect to.
Good luck.

Dear Ben
I am a traditional fine artist with a passion for detail and quality craftsmanship. My work includes realism and abstracts.
I’m quite new to selling my work on this website, though have been selling online since 2012.
I do have an abstract (partly created with ink and paper, partly digitally) about a personal journey of mine to the realisation that it is - okay not to be okay.
I do love the way you worded that ;)
I hope this may be of interest to you.
If not, then best of luck with your search :)

Sorry. Nothing here for help, again. But again, a nice topic! ;) They could be more frequent!

Ben,
This is my latest work. It questions the politics of this world. The inner v the outer circle. The work is very different and obviously based on realism.
Perhaps the viewer questions along with me the world as if from the underclass when seeing this. They gaze slightly down onto the viewer.
I hope you find what you are looking for.....

Ben.
This next work done last summer is about propaganda as rallying cries through history. The two images of the crucifixion are counterpoints for peace.
Modeled after Guernica, this is not simply a message against war, it is a message against the blatant misuse of propaganda that precedes war.

Ben,
The underlying work by Rembrandt, The Nightwatch, is about patterns in chaos. What I do here is create modern day objects. Using constructs that Koons might use, brighter louder colors, I have made a triangle of powerful images. They become statue like. The constructs are meant to bring my methods into the contemporary art world.

Hi Ben ... I agree with the above, that your interpretation and connection to an image is a very personal one. I think I have an understanding of what you're looking for ... don't think I'm exactly on track with these options, but in each case, they do show a critter in circumstances that aren't ideal ... and they do seem to show the critter with a somewhat perplexed expression ... as if to say ... "Well, I'll be fine ... "
I think you'll enjoy your search ... so many great artists here!!
Best of luck,
Lois Bryan

Dear Ben,
Am sure if we look around, almost every other human will have put on his/her face :)
Your thread just made me think of a bigger picture where our home planet is almost on fire, so almost all beings are on a put-up face.
Found a 'baby kingfisher' from my collection for you instead of the 'dog'.

Everyone is plugging their own work but the best way to find what you want is the keyword search. Words like chaos, destruction, fine, etc will probably get you better results than the random images posted in your thread. And there is a sidebar that allows you to narrow the search field by genre, mode, etc.
Good luck!
