Ok, secret time. I've been asked more than once how I put up with some of the stuff here especially being called some bad stuff in private lol. Here it is.

Well, My Nana was severely depressed and I lived with her and so I played the glad game often normally making her play it also. We then used Pollyanna Days to get through a lot of rubbish, making sure we only saw the good in things.

For us it worked. I've been using it a lot more since I started slipping into depression after my brothers suicide last year. It's worked so far :)

It's just sometimes people can be really, really mean. I think they are bored, in pain, or just going through some stuff and just vent. So I play the glad game.

Ok that's not all as simple as I've put it here but it's sort of the idea....

And now I sound completely demented lol

Love that top video.... PERFECT

This video is of a local day program here in NC for developmentally disabled adults. They do outdoor activities, artwork, and community outreach. Last year they lost their van, and made this video to help raise money to get a new one. They never did reach that goal, but they're still trying. We're all artists here, and we should remember how important creativity is, how integral it is for each of us to express who we are, and that it's so very important not to take anything for granted. This is a great little organization, full of joyful, important people doing important work. Thought this would be a good place to share this video from Shortbus Studios.

Jim, thanks for posting this. I did discover John Bramblitt a while back. Incredible.
I like that he says when he first started he didn't care what it looked like or if it was visually appealing, and just wanted to do it. If no one else liked it he just wanted to create something.

doom and gloom - everyone loves that stuff. until it happens to them. but until then - meteors hitting the earth, the rise of the zombies, bad storms etc.. it's all been made to movie, and because of that everyone loves it... until it happens to them.

abbie wants to smell my head... i wonder what i should smell like? not rosey, maybe vanilla? or that big stank flower that smells like rotting meat? lets say i smell like cake.

I tried to read the morning paper today, and was so overcome with the horrors reported from all over the world, that I had to put the paper down. I sat, wondering why we are so focused on telling each other about all the doom and gloom and negative things that happen in every distant place around the globe. Certainly the loving and positive things going on in the world far outweigh the negativity..."Hundreds Dead In Boat Capsize", but how many children were born, and lives saved through the miracle of modern medicine? "Assault on Funeral in Iraq Kills 96" cbut how many families gathered and shared their love for their deceased? Millions of children are starving all over the globe, but where is it reported that so many more millions were fed, clothed, bathed and put to sleep by loving parents in safe homes?

Following media reports, would have us think that hate, chaos, and negativity rule the day. However, when we think of all the love and kindness that goes on around us every day, and understand that it happens all over the world, then it is easy to see that love still rules the day. That's Good News!

I've stopped my addiction to CNN for a while. And I've found if I watch stuff like American Pickers and a few others like that, I'm in a much better mood than when I watch all the cop shows where serial killers are running around loose.

So much nicer when I just say "OOOmmmm" and leave the tv off ;-). Happy spring, everybody!
