If You Had The Money

If you had the money to purchase ONLY ONE of your own images for yourself or a gift for a friend - which would it be?

I've always loved this spot - which few people ever see as they speed their way through life.

Gotta say this one. I have some great memories attached to it and it calms me whenever I see it :)

Very nice choices, Roy and Parker. :-)

For me, that answer would change from day-to-day. Today, it would be this piece, which I'm completely in love with --

Grand Hyatt San Antonio art print by Wendy J St Christopher

I own a lot of my own work in print -- mostly sized 11x14 and 16x20. Having a hard copy in hand makes the work seem 100% more real and relevant to me. Like Silas Marner and his secret stash of gold, I like to take the prints out every so often and just enjoy seeing and showing them, handling, and being surrounded by them.

Prints are a great reminder of what I'm working hard to send out to living and working spaces all over the world. I love my prints! :-)

Great question Roy.

Like Wendy, I guess my mood could change from day to day. Usually , it's the last one that I posted that I want. Or the next that I am going to work on.

I can print small sizes - but for a large on Canvas print - this is what I'd want; because that is where I feel most at home Milford PA clock Tower

Although the one piece that I consider to be my favourite changes from time to time, it is almost always my most recently finished one that I love the most.

Quite often I´d choose one of my latest photographs, like one of my night shots, I took this week: http://www.colinutzphotography.com/stuttgart-bei-nacht-stuttgart-at-night/ (not on FAA yet. Still working on keywords and descriptions.)

My Three Pears painting I would really like on my wall, but I'm a painter so I could paint another. My digital work the only way to get one is to get a print of it.

I couldn't decide on one of my own, but if money were no object I would buy a large print of this painting of my brother's.

I have an Epson large format printer, so the cost isn't as big a factor for me as it is for many. I also do my own matting and framing on all but really giant prints. My favorites change from time to time, and aren't always images that I think others would want on their walls. If I had to pick one at this moment, it could be this one:

PS how do you manage to get the images in larger sizes in here? My link only does small and does not copy , I have to basically transport it and drop it.

Already bought and spent, loved this so much I got a 20 x 43.5, built my own frame and now look at it everyday over our couch.

Lot's of excellent choices - please remember - this is an image of yours that YOU would purchase IF you had the money (and perhaps a place to hang it).

Great thread! It's really interesting to see what the artists choose and there are some beautiful pieces that anyone would love to own.

Okay, then... It's hard to choose -- I want them all. I suppose I'd like a large one of this image. I did give it as a gift, printed small from my own printer, matted white and framed in black, and it looks fabulous. I took this at the pool where my niece was competing with her team, Seattle Synchro. They recently won 3rd in the nation. So proud.

I'm super pleased with one of my latest creations, and I tend to get better reception and interest in my forest paintings, so right now, it would probably be this one, for gifting to a friend:

I have a few other personal favorites, that I adore, but I get the feeling they're not as universally appealing / the interest may not spread very far beyond myself (ha). :)

OK, I have a weird sense of humor. But all kidding aside, I love the dramatic coloring I added plus the purely by chance box of crayon sign on the brick wall...which I did not see until I downloaded the image (my sight was focused on the lady in pink)...

That's a hard question. It's a toss-up between a couple but I think this one wins out. I'm not sure how many people would like a photograph of a hummingbird but I don't think I'd get bored with this one.

This one....actually I bought it to display/sell at art shows....but I hang it at home when it's not being shown! I do this with a lot of my medium sized framed prints too. I rotate my favorites on my mantle...but I'm glad to sell them at shows too!
