Description
Can FineArt help Pay private therapy sessions for Veterans with PTSD?
https://goo.gl/yRyiV8 #GoFundMe . . . .. Painting of a Western Wake Robin, Pacific Trillium, or Western White Trillium. It occurs in parts of the western United States and western Canada, usually in rich forest. In the northern part of its range, which includes southern British Columbia, extreme southwestern Alberta, Washington, Oregon and east to Montana, Wyoming and northern Colorado, it often grows under Douglas-fir. Other trees which frequently shade this trillium include grand fir, western red cedar, and western hemlock; bigleaf maple, red alder and Sitka spruce join in near the coast.
Near California shores, it is common under coast redwood. Associated understory plants include swordfern, vanilla leaf, violets, redwood sorrel and salal. Occasional Trillium ovatum plants have petals that are maroon rather than the typical white. This is not to be confused with the typical pinkness observed as the petals age.
When working with Vets who have PTSD in a three-hour session, each Vet sees specific changes take place, in the first session.
So they know they will be successful, have a more positive outlook, which also contributes to their success... Have been working with Veterans for over 44 years at no charge. . . . . Donations from family or friends. and concerned indifituals its has helped with expenses so that we can continue our work....

Lovely work, Nadine. The trillium is the emblem for the province of Ontario in Canada. It is against the law to pick them from the wild, but I have found them being cultivated in some nurseries here and have planted some under a pine tree in my yard.

Fabulous find! I used to find these in the woods in New Hampshire when growing up. It was always a great moment. You captured this great moment beautifully! LF shared
