This print is beautiful. It's a commonly depicted subject, but it is very special. The composition, tonal quality, and movement are exceptional and evocative. The piece is true to it's title... breathtaking!

I have wanted this for my pro life bulletin board at my Catholic Church and I wasn’t disappointed. It is beautiful and it has so much meaning put in a picture. A picture speaks better then words and this picture says it all. Thanks
Artist's Description
Group portrait painted in the summer of 1867 by French impressionist Jean-Frederic Bazille (1841-1870), showing close members of Bazille's family gathered on a balcony in the family home at Meric, near Montpellier. For the most part, the figures are looking towards the artist, posing a little stiffly, as if for a photograph. Bazille reworked the painting later that year, replacing some small dogs with the hat, parasol and flowers, for reasons best known to himself. An early leading light of the French impressionist movement, Blau's career was tragically cut short when he was killed in action leading an assault on a German position during the Franco-Prussian War.
