Description
The falls in winter by Karen Cook - A break in the weather meant sunshine, no winds and warmer temps (that is a matter of opinion!) Anyway, it was a day to get out and explore.
We headed to the site of the McMaster Mill Historic Site. Located in near Kingston, in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, it was once the site of a sawmill. No longer an active mill, it has become a nature lover's paradise, with walking trails, benches to enjoy, and look off areas for viewing.
On this day, the water was still managing to cascade over the falls of the Fales River, although the build up of ice was impressive. The water is dark, almost the color of tea, from the tannins in the rushing water. It was a great day to see the falls in winter
