Description
Long-billed Curlew I spent about 15 minutes watching this bird "groom - brush" his beak by dipping his foot in the water and then raking it along the length of his beak. Ever once in a while he would lay his head on the side and dip his beak in the water to "rinse?" the beak.

Thanks Karol and Robert. Looking at the range map Robert they might be in your area during migration heading toward the upper Texas Gulf coast. It mentioned in migration they are found on wetlands and grain fields. A winter vacation to the coast might increase your chances a bit! LOL
