The cone shape and the reddish cinders of Strawberry Crater resemble a giant strawberry.
Strawberry Crater is a cinder cone volcano, more than 1,000 feet high, in the San Francisco volcanic field, 20 miles north of Flagstaff, Arizona. It is along Forest Road 545 between Wupatki and Sunset Crater National Monument in the Strawberry Crater Wilderness. The crater a volcanic field at a base elevation of about 5,500 feet, and heights of 6,526 feet. The northwestern end is covered with lava flows, the southern is filled with low cinder cones. Several surrounding cones include Sunset Crater in Sunset Crater National Monument.

Beautiful capture, work. lf
Bob and Nadine Johnston replied:
Lots of work, most photos I spend over 3 hours creating, some five hours. Every area of this has my handwork. Using digital brushes to make it as close to the way I saw it when at the scene. Like Ansel Adams said, "85% of my images are created after the shutter is pressed." Was fortunate to be able to attend two of his seminars it Yosemite... Feel like his spirit is with me sometimes as ideas come to me that I've never been taught.

The rich gold of the prairie grass against that beautiful blue sky makes for a perfect compliment to the volcano.

Wow! I just love the yellows and it contrasting with the color of the crater and the title of strawberry that is so befitting of the volcano...f/v
Bob and Nadine Johnston replied:
From this distance in this light its ot easy to tell, but the Volcano also contains Red Lava in the cone. It is most noticeable in the slope on the left.
