Description
A small sampler of the wonderfully modern architecture to be found at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. What started out as a small campus of 8 buildings on 70 acres has now grown to a sprawling monster of more than 75 buildings across 286 acres.
It is a testament to the success of Phil Knight's vision, and each building is named for and celebrates the accomplishment of the athletes the corporation has partnered with. The campus also includes a 6 acre lake, two international-sized soccer pitches, a 400-meter 5-lane track, along with a 1.3 mile trail through the adjoining woods. The facility is so large that from the replica Pebble Beach 18th tee one can look 317 yards away, next to the Sports Performance Center, and you’ll see the Pebble Beach green, too, protected by a bunker. With all that glass around, I don't think they'd want me practicing my drive there.
