First Place Winner in the Military Contest and several others. Featured in too many groups to list.
For Decades after the Korean War, wanted to do something to Honor a Friend who died, while saving my life.
Then, made a trip to the Korean Memorial in Washington DC and was struck by the engravings on The Korean Veterans Memorial Wall.
....At Home was inspired to create this painting.....Later, 200 Posters 22x28 were created of this painting by a Printing Company and they donated the posters. .
....Then on the 5th Anniv of 911, Personally signed them in Silver at a Gala in a California Gallery. Many were purchased by parents who had sons or daughters serving. They sold out in an hour, probably should have printed 2000.
....The Gallery donated the Wine and space to show our other work, did all the publicity for a month prior to the Gala. (Copies were printed in the Orange and LA County Magazines, OC Register, and the LA Times.
....The entire proceeds from the Posters was donated to The non-profit group, "Soldiers Angels" who send packages to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan....
....
Many call the "Korean War the FORGOTTEN War." because in the media, when WWII and Vietnam are mentioned, they Forget Korea as if it did not exist.
....To put it into Perspective.....
THREE YEARS of the Korean War
54,000 American & 628,833 UN Soldiers were Killed
TEN Years Vietnam War 56,000.
....Over 18,000 per year in Korea
....5,600 per year in Nam.
....
More men died in one year in Korea than in the Iraq and Afghanistan combined, in ten Years of war.
....
Yet, the Media Still ignores Korea 90% of the time. WHY? We should not forget those who died for Freedom, fighting communists who had vowed to take over the world.
....When your Media skips any mention of Korea, while mentioning combat on both sides of the Korean War, all Korean Vets would appreciate it, if you wrote or called the TV stations and complained because they did.
This might change their attitude. Korean Vets will Thank you...

A heartrending and stark reminder of the horror of wars - and also a reminder of how war veterans - who have laid their precious lives on the line - are often forgotten, neglected and that too many are given no or very little support.

Dr. Bob, first, God bless you, sir, for your service to America! This image is indeed a most moving piece of art, and such a special tribute to the valiant U.S. soldiers who fought in the Korean War. Indeed, may their contributions in the fight for freedom never, ever be forgotten. It is memorable works like this one, I pray, that will continue to accomplish this noble goal. Excellent, outstanding work. Big "like" and double favorite! F/L
