Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

They are one of the largest species of spiders (not classified as tarantulas) in North America. There are called golden silk or banana spiders because of the yellow colored silk web that they weave.

Since this is a macro shot it should not be too big...I have heard of spitting cobras but spiders ???? That is something for Wikipedia I guess to clarify...

Growing up in south Florida, I so hated running into their webs while playing in the woods. Oh they seemed huge and oh so creepy. The Florida rural legend was that if they spit in your eye you would go blind.... now I don't know if spiders spit or not ... haha. VF
