Description
The Oneida Waterfall usually has a nice wide veil, often across the entire width of the overhanging ledge that you can clearly see in this shot. Since it has been so dry in this area recently, most of the falls were looking more like it was still the middle of summer. It was interesting to be able to see the underpinnings of this rock formation, with less water to hide the details.
Oneaida Falls is the second waterfall you will find when you hike from the top of the Ganoga Glen Gorge in Ricketts Glen State Park.
This photograph was captured on Monday, October 4th, 2013, on a solo autumn hike through Ricketts Glen. The shot was captured with a Canon EOS 5D camera through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L lens, at the 17mm focal length. A 77mm ND-8 Neutral Density filter was mounted on the lens. The exposure was 13 full seconds at f/16, ISO 100. The camera was securely mounted on a Manfrotto 055CLB tripod with a Manfrotto 222 "Pistol Grip" head. A remote shutter release cable was also used.
Ricketts Glen State Park is located at the junction of RT-118 and RT 487 in Fairmount Township, Pennsylvania, USA. The nearest town is Red Rock, PA, about half way between Williamsport and Wilkes Barre, PA.

Thank you so much, Eti! It was strange to see this waterfall without it's normal wide "veil". But, it was really cool to see Oneida looking so different. Wonderful wishes, Gene
