Description
It was starting to get dark when I reached Cayuga Falls. The first thing I noticed was the nice reflection of the waterfall in the plunge pool, as I approached from down stream.
This beautiful spot is located along the Ganoga Glen branch of the waterfall trail "loop" in Ricketts Glen.
This photo was taken on August 16th, 2013 with a Canon EOS 5D DSLR body, fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens at the wide 17mm focal length. The shutter speed was 10.0 seconds at f/16, ISO 100 in RAW format. An ND-8 Neutral Density filter was used on the lens while the camera was mounted on a Manfrotto heavy duty tripod. A remote shutter release cable was used.

Two waterfalls in one really, one slow and gentle, the other full of gusto and energy - suppose that's thanks to the extra hard rock in the middle... Another excellent waterfall feature, Gene! F&V#19

Thanks, Richard! This waterfall has multiple personalities. This is the tame summer phase. During spring runoff, both spillways gush with equal ferociousness. Best wishes, Gene

This subdued late lighting really does give the image a boost, the increased colour saturation is mild, but distinctive. Love the general subdued glow here, Gene! F&V#7

Thanks, Bob! As usual, I was very late getting out of the glen on Friday night. When the light is right I just can't pass up the shot. Kindest regards, Gene
