Peering anxiously from a brushy autumn grove this impressive mule deer buck cautiously scans the surrounding area. Spots you and freezes in hopes that you haven’t seen him. They can stand so still, their natural camouflage concealing them so well that you and other possible intruders can’t detect their presence! Then, in a fleeting moment gracefully jump into action and dart into the heavy foliage and vanish leaving only a beautiful memory.
My love of wildlife, fall foliage and just such momentary glimpses were the inspiration for the subject matter in this original digital abstract painting.
The many art tools, responsiveness, and endless possibilities for creativity provided by an iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, Procreate software and an original photograph snapped in the foothills of Western Colorado made creating this digital painting an adventure. The abstract painting posted here grew magically as the work progressed from the beginning digital ink pen drawing to the addition, with digital paint brushes, of the many colors and textures in the finished product.
It was an intriguing experience to create this image! So, I wanted to share it with you hoping that you would enjoy seeing it as much as I enjoyed creating it!
