Hi Kristen, there's lots on the net of course about meanings in birthnames by valuing (sp?) the letters to form a single figure# that's supposed to say everything about you. Ive tested lots of the net sites where they analyze your name, b/date, etc, and I've done it long-hand: takes forever. It's all based on the meanings of numbers, historically and in "witchcraft", and how they affect your life if you get it done by a good numerologist. It's spooky stuff, and I went through a time of doing everybody and seeing so much right in the characteristics the numbers one has give one. Soooo, sure, email me just your birthday/ y/m/d....and if you want some fun, got to Astrology or Numerology FREE sites: within the bounds of not taking it too seriously, you'd be surprised how well your numbers read you, reveal you. As a writer...I worked as a consultant, for about a year and a half, with Disadvantaged Persons, who wanted to write. They came from all walks of life. The Schizophernic were the most interesting. They didn't give a hoot what Sign hung over them. ...and Yes; they could write.

The new born of any species has no choice, as to what it will develop into. It’s existance is determined by generations of genetic evolvment and changes. Those of us who consider ourselves to be normal, do not always understand the different ones. If we took time to try to understand them, we just might see the humorous side of their existence. So, with due respect to the "different ones" whom I call "Whatzits.," I wrote this poem.

"Whatzit"

I was born fuzzy and ugly, at the age of nearly three.
Would’ve been born sooner, but the stork was afraid of me.
He dropped me off at a barber’s shop, to the barber’s chagrin.
He didn’t know whether to diaper me, or shave my face and chin.

I was put under a washtub, with a bowl of milk and a bone,
To wait for a trapper, to explain "Whatzit", when I was shown.
A burly man in hobnailed boots clomped in with a mangy hound.
The barber banged upon the tub, but I didn’t make a sound.

The tub was lifted from the floor, so the dog could take a sniff,
It flipped upside-down, it's eyes real big, and all four legs went stiff.
Roaring, "Whatzit" you got under there," the trapper reached for me.
I opened my mouth two feet wide, and gobbled a finger...or three.

The barber got in a frenzy, he rushed to the big man’s side.
With his razor, he swung at me, but took trapper’s ear and hide.

Made me sick being there, amidst the blood and gore.

Into the woods and hills I ran, 'til I came upon a hollow,
I thought I would be safe there, certain no one would follow.
For a while I was lonely... then SHE came into my life;
So lovely, she captured my heart; I asked her to be my wife.

We’ve lived here many years; little "Whatzits" we had galore.
It must be eighteen or nineteen, or maybe twenty four.
We don’t ask for anything, except to be happy and free,
If you find a "Whatzit’s" cave, only contentment you will see.

Don’t be afraid of us; or any of our “Kith and Kin.”
We share this earth by HIS choice; the same world, you live in.

Hi Beth, found this site purely by accident while looking for photography information. Had to join up so I could reply to your post which I found very interesting!! I am new to this, but have an enthusiastic interest in Photography astronomy and some astrology with little knowledge of the latter.
Thought I would give some input. I am a cancerian and was born on the cusp of cancer/leo on 22nd July the Moon and Sun are my planets. I know that planetary influences do impact on a persons life and have a friend who has studied astrology for many year's, she is very good at this and has prepared birthcharts for me. I have been very interested in Photography and art since the age of 7 but did not take up any academic learning until 9 months ago. I wish I had done so earlier as I am now 50+ and think I may have left it a bit late to make any influential changes in my life with this knowledge. I'm sure going to have a go though.

Good to hear, although some here are nay sayers. I know for a fact that I am influenced by lunar cycles and even the medical profession are now admitting to lunar sways affecting people mentally. So, who knows if the planets do not have some hold over us? No-one. One day we may have the answer but for now I have to not make decisions when the moon is full as that is always a bad idea for me lol

I was reading up about the 13th starsign and I suddenly remembered this little thread we had going about 5 years ago now

Ophiuchus, which is actually meant to be the 13th sign represents a man wrestling a serpent and was discarded by the Babylonians because they only wanted 12.

I think our little experiment proved in a very round about and not very scientific way that Pisceans make more artists than the other signs do.

Does anyone have an image in their galleries of Ophiuchus?

Mazal Tov is an expression used when offering congratulations or wishing good luck.
A more significant message is revealed by delving into the meanings of the word mazal.
The most common definition of mazal, is an "alignment of stars."
Each of us in born under an astrological field with a particular energy flow.
Our mazal determines personality, circumstances and potential=our destiny.
The Jewish people believe that we can transcend our destiny. As referenced
in the Torah, G-d lifted Abraham above the stars and changed his destiny.
Another meaning for mazal is a"drip from above." Our tradition
