Welcome To Our Family.

The rules? No rules; just an expectation that we all "do unto others." In other words, if you want others to promote your work, you should do the same for them. Those of us who take a full part in promoting ourselves and others try to do so for a 24 hour period or longer if possible. That includes opening the Big Skip and promoting the images in there too.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND HOW WE DO THINGS HERE:

Please use the URL for your image postings, rather than the copy and paste code. Posting the photo itself, rather than a link will make it difficult for people who don't have high speed internet, as well it might cause people to skip over your post without promoting.

Only 1 image is allowed per day (within a 24 hour period), both in this discussion and in the group.

There is NO contest vote solicitation allowed on the discussion boards.

If you are posting nudes, or other questionable images, please post a warning notice with your link. There are children here, as well as adults who choose not to look at that type of image.
Please do not post links from your pixels.com account or any other FAA mirror site. It tends to create problems for some people and most will skip those links.

ABSOLUTELY NO images of nudity, death, cruelty or violence of any kind on the main board, where you have no ability to post a warning.

Finally, JUST HAVE FUN!! This is an incredible group of people who will make you feel welcome from your first post!!

TO ALL NEWCOMERS: I realize that some of you are so new to not only the group, but to FAA, that I thought perhaps a little clarification is in order. I'm sure you've noticed that while we can't require anyone to vote/like anyone elses work, we do tend to treat people the way people treat others. But I also realized that you may not have a clue what we're talking about, so........... to "like" someone's work, you click on their blue link, which opens up that particular piece. In the upper right corner, you'll see a few little icons. One is a thumbs up, which is what you press to "like/vote" for that piece of art. Most of us here press that whether we love the work or not. It's how we help each other to move up in the FAA search standings (even though FAA now says it doesn't count for very much, but that's now past history and it is what it is). That's all we ask of you. Should you choose to do so however, you can also click on the little heart (which is to add a work to your own "favorites" list), and you'll also find buttons for the various social media sites if the artist chooses to activate any or all of those buttons. These are the ways we promote each other. You may also choose to vote/like your own submissions. It's perfectly acceptable to do so.

Hi 103!

(((HUGS))) Anne - sure it'll work out with Cole!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Just found a box of calendars outside - Motivation, Inspiration, New England Lighthouses and Florida - all with my photos on them. Found one of them at Staples yesterday and was wondering when the publisher would be sending them along. I've been working on finding more calendar publishers - it's a lot of work but very rewarding to see my work being used. One of them is of the beach in Florida near where my mother used to live (she had to move back to the Northeast two years ago for health reasons) so I'm excited to be able to give one to her. Thank goodness licensing is working better for me than print sales! This group is doing so nicely with sales though so hoping the sales fairy visits more of us here too :)

Hello #103

Matrianne cool on having the calenders, as for sales, it is interesting to see where we all end up getting sales. Wat works for some of us doesn';t work for others. It all takes time and energy to keep on top of it all.

Back later to share ... (if the net will let me lol)

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Hi Sarah and Wendy.

Wendy, I did thank you. Walked almost 5 miles. my legs felt like jello when I got done. They gave out free water along the way, I think I drank 8 bottles or more while walking.

Only had time for likes and favs for everyone.

Wendy- About EMG's- they aren't actually looking at or for your reaction. They look for your body's reaction- they look at electrical signals in the muscles. The test can reveal nerve dysfunction, muscle dysfunction, or problems with nerve-to-muscle signal transmission. If it were about a patient's reaction, the test would never work on those who've already had it because they'd know what to expect and results would be tainted. Prayers and best wishes that yours yields helpful information and isn't too painful.

Cathy- Prayers and healing thoughts for your father, and you.

Lins- Good to hear your mum is doing a bit better!

Ellen- Glad you, too, are on the mend!

Anne- Hoping to read this time tomorrow that things worked out with Cole.

Marianne- I'm happy for you that licensing is working out so well. I bet the calendars look amazing!

Just dropped in quickly to say thank you to my friends. You are my good luck charms!!! It is hard to believe that after being raining all day , watching the tent, draining water, wiping down art, covering, uncovering, super bad hair day, cold and wet, I had my biggest sales ever in one day. Sold three small originals, and about ten nice size prints, 2 flat prints matted and a couple of packages of cards!
Hugs to those that need it. Catch up later tonight I hope.

Waving to Anne! (((((((((hugs)))))))). I know you're frustrated, what's meant to be will be! Still holding out hope this match is meant to be!

Been lazing and reading! Only got to see my city daughter for about and hour - the normal 2 hr drive up took her 41/2 hrs .she made it for the last 1/2 hr of the party then brought all the kids home, so their mom could drop off a few kids she'd promised to and go running to her husbands family- His dad passed away totally unexpectedly while they were at the party. What a day for them!

Jan glad it was a good sales day! Now stay out of the rain!!!!!!!!!!!! No more being sick!

Cathy- Best wishes for your computer!

Wendy- My drawings can take anywhere from 15- 60+ hours of draw time. Some have taken around 100 hours! Colored pencils (more than graphite) are a lot of work and require a lot of patience, but I love them. Thanks for asking!

Lins- You most certainly are an arteest! Missed you yesterday

Lew- Sorry for the loss of your friend

Kim- Congrats on your last Saturday! I hope it was a good day at work

May all those who are blocked (artistically!) become unblocked!

Not posting today - have to close up my family's summer place tomorrow then head out to Cape Cod to shoot photos for a calendar company and when I get back hoping to get into Manhattan for PhotoEXPO so I'll be mostly MIA all week but want to extend my condolences to Lew and just wish everyone a good week! (((HUGS))) for those who need them.

Sarah, your pencil drawings are simply amazing!

BTW my opening last night was wonderful - lots of people - the place was packed. Some friends surprised me there and saw some other people I hadn't seen in years since there were other artists who live in my hometown who'd invited folks so it was a really fun night. Then out to dinner with friends - got home after midnight exhausted. Spent today catching up on stuff around the house, clearing off my laptop so there is room for new photos, backing up stuff to my website, speaking with clients on other jobs I need to finish up when I get back so no time to post or promote today.

Lew, sorry to hear of your friend passing.

Kim I am sure you will get over your block too! Awesome on not having to work Saturdays for at least a year.

Angelina you posted that again too soon, it wouldnt let me give it another vote yet.

lol Terri, sorry for renaming your cutey bunny. It is good to see your home town.

If Yazmin posted a pic I can't see it as the page is not loading properly :( Finally got to see it, Yazmin can you please post the link in future it is better for those who have slow connections.

Sarah, I guessed that it must have taen quite some time, you sure have more patience than me. It pays off in your beautiful work :)

Marianne you sure sound like you have a busy week ahead .. take care and dont forget to rest! I am glad the opening went well!

Phew 3rd attempt to post is a charm ... for some reason the page would not load properly for me.
