In fact, sometimes if you click on the number of votes under the image you can infer from IP addresses and times just how effective people may be at vote soliciting ;-)

Absolutely. :) . There are usually the same consistant few that have pretty much the same viewers/voters from the same consistant locales each and every contest entered.

Would be nice of the leading contender (as of this moment) even resembled a photograph. I guess if you didn't stipulate "no photo paintings," then it's anyone's game. Yes, I have images in this contest, and I'm definitely not soliciting votes. Just being grouchy and expressing my irritation, so forgive me, I couldn't help myself.

Greg is right. There are certain members actively soliciting votes whether or not the rules allow it. They will vote as a block or several times for their own selves. A lot of us hosts know who the culprits are and will remove the offending entries.

That being said, Richard, good for you hosting this contest! Just scrolled through the pages, as well as the leaderboard, and voted! Good luck.
