Jennifer when people ask me how I got so much done and have done so much in the little time that I have ....I literally tell them........"I haven't slept in 3 years" ....
which is actually kind of true.....I was Pregnant with my second Child when things picked up and I started full force back into Art......during my pregnancy I was able to enjoy and take advantage of the freedom of only having one child and having more alone time to get work done......however then I had my youngest daughter ...having a newborn and a 3 year old while trying to "make it" and build my portfolio in a very short amount of time I wasn't able to relax.....driven by stubbornness....ambition and the goal of not going back to work I pushed through the exhaustion. I figured if I am not going to be able to sleep much having a new baby in the house I may as well be productive.....I would put my kids to bed around 8pm....then fed my newborn every 2-3 hrs throughout the night.....instead of getting comfortable only to be woke up by a very hungry screaming little girl I stayed awake until 4am and then would get 4 hrs of sleep before the 3 year old woke up ready and full of energy.

I had a good year of putting my kids to bed kissing my Husband goodnight and headed to my Creative chamber.......as my house slept I was in my Studio........It was the only time during the day I wasn't interrupted. Now I do that often ...my work hours are 8pm-4am

In the end I made myself sick and now am paying for it........but my hard work is paying off as I have successfully created a job for myself so I can raise my girls and still bring in income.

Good luck to you.....I admire your hard work....dont get discouraged find little ways to make it work .....everyone is different....you will figure this out!

Oh and I can relate Jennfier with the sleeping trouble......I have had insomnia since I was a young child.

I remember those days of little ones running around. I had my kids all close in age. I was preg with my second son beforw my oldest son turned 2 . My older st son was very calm and read his books or watched his moviea. He could work the vcr by time he was 2 and watch his disney movies. He was reading by time he was 18 months old. He can read 3 books sometimes at once. Now at 24 yrs old but he tends to play a vid game or watch movies. But anyways my second son was not as calm and climbing out of his crib at 11 months and my calm days where over. I than had my other son he was calm for first 3 years than climbed walls and been on the go ever since. My daughter was born soon after and she was very calm and not as adventures. They are all grown now my 20 year old lives out of town. My baby just turned 18 . I have returned to work. Pullung 14 hour days some days.

I think I am going to try to take up painting and drawing again when I can afford to set up alittle studio or place to collect my thoughts. If im not passed out cold in my days off. I did that today after a 14 hour shift lol .

I work with mentally challanged people and im up and down a flight of stairs in an apartment complex. Cooking and cleaning assisting their needs. Its 100 degrees outside. But I do like my job for the most part I really like helping people. Dont much care for all the paperwork but that goes hand in hand with goverment and state funded programs.. Im still alive and kicking. Working 14 hours days. Imiss chilling and drawing or reading posts. But it's nice to be back to work. I like helping people that need a little extra help. I got a very rewarding day. One of the people I help told me Jennifer you help me and you are in my heart and you make good mashed potatoes that I can't wait till you cook some again :) so sweet. Days like that make helping people worth it. Some of my co workers can be a pain in the butt so things like that help going to work 14 hours a day worthwhile.
