Edit the image in question and then scroll down to the Groups section. Uncheck the group where the image has been rejected and then save.

depends on which group - Q doesn't give you the opportunity - and I don't see that the group owner ever does it - just stays in the rejected column - a reason I quit the group.

George is right. Uncheck the image from that group on the edit page. Although what's the point unless the group admin changes? If you want to know why an image was rejected, contact the group admin and ask. I've changed my mind o. images before when someone asked me

Thanks for the info, I was in the process of asking the question of how to remove rejected images... I found out how... thanks.
But the question that does not seem to have a good answer is why is an image rejected. I believe that it would simple enough to say just one or two words, for example: Low resolution, poor focus, didn't like it, wrong theme, etc. Not an elaborate explanation, just a broad explanation.

Thanks

I leave groups that reject my images if they clearly fit the subject matter of the group. If an admin doesn't choose to feature a piece, that is one thing, but to reject a piece that fits within the scope of the group means she/she simply didn't like it or it didn't appeal to them. I have no interest in being a part of such groups.

Patricia,
I agree with you, but the problem is compounded by the fact that rejected work in some groups are rejected with no explanantion whatsoever. I am not looking for an elaborate explanation, just two or three words.

Sometimes the rejection is actually an accident - group owner clicks the wrong key. You can ask or you can re-read the group policies to make sure you haven't missed something (like sometimes the subject matter seems perfect to you but the group never accepts an image with text on it or something like that). If I have something that I feel certain fits and it's rejected, sometimes I just remove it (as described above) and then turn around and re-submit it. I've even had images not only get in but get a feature on a 2nd try. I don't let it bother me.

I'm with Patricia. I don't need a group Mod telling me my work isn't 'art' (yes, that's happened here), or refusing to reply when I query the rejection. I get enough rejection of my work from friends and family; no need to seek it from strangers! ;-)

LOL! I hear that Wendy, especially when you're inclined to think the admin isn't as talented as they think they are... makes ya wonder if they just can't stand the competition! ;)

As long as the image meets the group requirements it shouldn't be rejected. In the main group I run 4.4% of images don't meet the simply explained requirements so are rejected without explanation as I state in the group page. I make no subjective judgement regarding my viewpoint of the images submitted that meet the criteria. I have also removed a few members who repeatedly image bomb the group simply because they cannot be bothered to read the clear requirements.

When I have had images rejected from groups I don't recall ever having had an explanation. I just shrug and move on...

I reject images on a regular basis because the group member continues to submit work that doesn't meet the criteria, or they submit more images than are acceptable. I reject some images that are fuzzy and also images that I feel don't do justice to others in the group.

I don't have the attitude that I'm better than those who submit to my group. I submit very few of my own. If somebody decides they don't like the way I administrate the group... have a nice day. If somebody asks why I rejected an image I will gladly let them know why.

Usually it's because they are not following the script. I've had to reject some mighty fine work.

Good answer Glenn. Big take away here is that you cannot always blame the Admin.

I have no problems with images rejected because they do not fit the criteria of the group, however, when they are rejected, and they fit the criteria I would like to know if it is because of poor focus, wrong colors, or any other objective point.

Edelberto...

You just need to drop a line to the Administrator. I would think that most would respond. I know I would.

P.S. I just looked at several of your images. I know that there is one where the little girl in the image is lifted from a painting from one of my artists that I used to represent. If I managed a group that you placed that into I would reject it because I see no credit given to the artist anywhere, though you may have permission to use it. (I'd indicate that as such in the description) So there's a reason for rejection that I just gave as an example that would answer your question as to why. But you wouldn't know that reason unless you asked me specifically.

There are (or were) at least a couple admins who stated up front that they get a lot of submissions so they cherry pick a few of the best (in their opinion) and reject all others even if the works fit their guidelines. Those are not groups I need to waste my time with.

Glenn
Could you tell me which piece are you referring ?
Thanks

Two weeks ago I noticed 9 of my images had been dumped in a Reject folder. All of them were absolutely within guidelines for the group and IMO, darn good photos! Every one of them has been featured in several other groups multiple times. So I sent an email to that group's admin asking why he'd rejected so many of my submissions and letting him know that I wasn't asking him to reconsider. He didn't bother to reply. Nice.

Michel, just to clarify for our viewers at home (LOL) you aren't the admin I was whining about.

Thanks. Didn't think I was.

Edelberto,

The image I refer to is the link below. The angel in the work is from a painting by Mary Baxter St Clair. I used to represent her work. It is directly from her "Make A Wish" image. Here is a link to it: http://www.enchantedislandstudio.com/make_a_wish.htm

I'm not on a witch hunt to track down people who borrow others work and claim it as their own. That would be a major task here. I just pointed it out as a reason why an image would be rejected by me as an administrator and pointing out the reason why it is important to write a note to that administrator.

Kathleen says she has not been responded to. She should be! The one thing we don't know is her history with the offending administrator, which only that administrator could shed light on.

Thanks Glenn, I did look for someone to acknowledge when I was working on the image, however, the Google Image that I used had no link whatsoever to anyone. I have removed the work from my site.

Thanks
Ed

So you're using other artists' works without verifying beyond a doubt they're in the public domain first? Seriously? No, I mean... SERIOUSLY??

Kathleen Bishop

Glenn, as far as I know I have no history with that admin. Don't think he and I have ever interacted here or elsewhere so if he has a personal problem with me I am not aware of it. At any rate, I'm outta the group.
