Tote Bags - Grab The Code!

As with photos and pictures, can we not have a grab-the-code-box so as to be able to paste the Tote Bag Image into discussions and competitions at all? :)
And, for that matter, throw cushions, duvet covers, iPhone cases etc etc (forgive me if this facility is already enabled).

I second that suggestion. It makes sense, now that the range of products is widening and people are starting to create images specifically for those products.

YES! Would love this.

I think Mike asked for that in the weekly suggestions but it wouldn't hurt to second that request there.

didn't even know this thread was running when i suggested it. it seems silly to have all these products and to have the same rectangle over and over. i also asked if we can have the right shape in contests too. makes little sense to have a phone case contest when we can't see how its presented on the phone - and more so, if there is one, it should connect to pages that have phones listed.

This would be very useful.

Sort of related - it would be nice to show the new products on the PDF sheet as well.

In running the new Tote Bag Group, I am telling those who join that this is the
simplest way to get a photo of their artwork in situ on their Bags. Code-grabbing
can be done but is technically difficult, and inelegant. I have many, many photos
in the group - yet only 7 images of Tote Bags!!!

In the absence of an easy code-grab - here is what I'm recommending:-

Go to your photo (of flowers etc), go to Edit Mode - make sure that the Tote Bag option is priced.

Then you can edit the position of the flowers on the bag.

Do a screen grab (Print Screen) and paste into Paint/CC/PS/Gimp or whatever editing software
you can - make a neat, square photo, upload to your faa account and then select for the competition
or discussion - whatever!

Voila!

I agree that for contests that are specific to a product like a phone case or tote that it would be nice for it to preview as such.

In response to Jack's screen grab post, I have used the code that was in a discussion from a while back (over a month ago).

one more thing on the code for the image I posted above - yes it is a pain, so I keep it on a notepad file, and swap out the image when I want another one.

Nancy - great that you can use the code, but I think too complex for most - AND your images are H U G E :)

Only one problem with the screen grab method, Jack - I don't upload anything to my FA account unless it's ready for sale. Our portfolios are meant to showcase our best work, and having a section marked 'experiments' or 'for forum use only' or whatever (even if it's password-protected) doesn't look very professional, imho.

As far as discussions are concerned, it's easy enough, if a bit time-consuming, to display a tote bag image with a link to the relevant sale page, but of course that doesn't work for groups or competitions.

Image don't have to be huge, by the way, just add height and width to the code to make them a manageable size.

Strangely enough, my cut-and-paste Totes make for great Bag-on-Bag Totes!

That's interesting, if unusual, Jack (your link didn't work for me, but I found it anyway). It just might raise some copyright issues though - while the image ON the bag is yours, the one OF the bag belongs to FAA. And now my brain is starting to hurt...

Jack Torcello

Abbie Shores has assured me that FAA has no issues with the copyright as long as the photo is being used for advertising purposes!

Jane McIlroy

Then maybe you should take the prices off!

Jack Torcello

I have asked Abbie about the FAA photo of my Tote Bag
appearing as art on another version of the same Tote.
It might cause copyright conflict!

Abbie Shores

We have no issue with you using the image we have here of your artwork on a tote bag

We do have an issue with a picture of the tote bag AS the image on a tote bag. That is completely different

Totally fine to use anywhere as advertising

That image on a bag, not okay

Jack Torcello

I thought there might be a conflict. OK, I shall make my own Tote Bag-on-Bag artwork
unless we can come to some licensing arrangement with FAA - then it becomes every
body's opportunity?

Abbie Shores

I will go and ask for you. I am sure you could buy one for your OWN use to advertise but not put it up for sale to everyone

Jack Torcello

The opportunity is there - so many cents/pence per bag when the bag-on-bag motif is used!

When I click on your link above Jack it takes me to my start page. Wonder why.

So where is the code we can use? IS there a link? Did I miss it above? Thanks!!
