Website

my new website: http://danielprecht.wix.com/photography

What do you think about it? I don't have too much content yet but soon I have summer break in Uni so a lot of new content will follow soon.
I know the domain is not the best but at the moment I really can not afford a better one.... So please just comments about the website itself and not about the bad domain name
As the domain name is really bad I would be very grateful if some of you could support me and share this link in social media

I'm on my phone, so my response is short.

I never understood, why people are using a visitor counter, especially when they have only a few dozen visitors.

If I see a website with 75 visitors, l leave. Sorry!

the page is rather condensed and i have to turn noscript on many times to see the site itself. for users like myself that use that, its a turn off.

the main paragraph is too small to read and has too many words in one block. the tan words on brown is hard to read, and needs better syntax. it should be more like - This site is about general photography skills, and easy ways to go about it... or something like that.

the second main paragraph - talk about what the page is actually about - and not what you plan on it being. be sure to add commas after pauses, but i'd leave out the - your here for this, you guess it, etc. all websites are under construction, so that isn't needed either.

there isn't much else to comment on because that's all you made it seems. that first block of text should really be all the links you made thus far. however due to the format of this page, all links will be made into long text blocks. it won't look neat.

the pictures, i assume are yours, should have a file name to reflect that. a watermark with your name and or a link and copyright underneath it. so they know you shot those. it should say where it was as well. hover over text should be there too.

the page says the rest of the content can't be shown. so i don't know if there is anything else.

I read through your two articles and the two things that stuck out to me are:

1. You should explain the difference between APS-c and full frame better. Make sure you say that full frame sensors are equivalent in size to 35mm film and will generally perform better at high ISOs due to their larger photosites. Also, it might be helpful if you create a diagram to show viewers the difference-- simulate the image circle projected by a lens, and then impose the shapes of each size sensor. The way it is now, it seems like it would be a little hard for a beginner to grasp.

2. Make sure spelling and punctuation is spot on. Having several people proofread everything takes care of this one pretty easily.

The D7000/7100 is a great suggestion for a first camera.

that's what it said on my screen. the site your using is too fancy, instead of just giving you text, it seems that it needs to load it up. and in my case, even though i enabled all of noscript, it tried to load it and gave me the error:

We're sorry, this content cannot be displayed. Please try again later.

not sure if others can't see it either. pages with too many scripts and such can be a real pain compatibility wise.

the fact that i have to wait more than a 10th of a second for a webpage to load up, means i'm out the door in a flash. and if its not loading for me, i wonder how it loads for google.

Looking pretty good, but I do have some suggestions.

You have about 5 seconds to make a person want to explore your site further. Your home page is critically important.

The front page says the same thing "this site is about learning photography" 4 different times. Use some of that text to hint at what else is on your site. The text over the image is the only place you need to describe what the site is about. Don't ask "do you have questions about photography?" more than once. Put a little bit of the articles you have online on the front page with links to those pages so the person can keep reading.

You have everything jammed onto that front page. Why a comment box there? Move the comment box to one of the article pages, because that's more likely where people will want to comment or ask questions. Move the contact form to the "About" page. Remove anything that says "content unavailable" until you have that content working.

I think you have too many colors going on. The background and the thick divider bars should be a more harmonious set of colors, so that your photographs stand out. Also don't use bold fonts on small text, like in your first paragraph on the upper left. It's very hard to read.
