Font Program Suggestions?

Hi all...I am wondering if anyone can recommend a free font program. I am basically using picasa and gimp right now. Wondering if there is anything out there easy to use with cool fonts.

You mean free system fonts? Gimp is an image editor, and uses whatever fonts you have installed, I think.

Here's one of my favorite free font sites

I need to add some text to a few of my images for a motivational poster type project. I am just not that familiar with gimp, but perhaps I need to youtube some instructions :)

Yes Cynthia! That's just what I was looking for...so I can probably download those into gimp to make them work~

Michelle, do you use Pinterest? I have a board for typefaces, some really good ones here:

If you're on a PC, you'll download the font, unzip it, then drag the files to your Windows/Fonts folder and they'll install. If you hundreds of fonts installed it can slow down your system. I keep mine organized by style in folders on another part of my computer, and then when I want a specific style I'll go through my saved fonts (you can preview them by double clicking on them) and choose what I want to install. But I have a bazillion fonts.
