Wondering About If This Image Will Print?

Photography Prints

I made this digital painting off a picture from my ipad so I know the resolution is not as good.

Thanks in advance
Kathy

I will leave the actual question to those that can say with certainty one way or the other, but it looks upsized to me or either just not very crisp to begin with.

Lovely painting, I really like it. However when I put the green box over it I do think it might have a problem when it goes in for print. What was your resolution?

i'm thinking no, because this was enlarged by a bit. you can see chunking along the diagonals.

I do up size some of my work in photoshop but keep my resolution at 300 or more. I just thought it was pretty :-) I will take it off. Mike, does FAA let you know when someone tried to buy a print but was not printable?

Yes you will get email from FAA if theres is a problem with an image that was sold. You are given an option to correct , depending on the problem.

Thanks David, I'm teaching myself photoshop cs6 that's been on my computer forever. If someone has time, I would like them to look at my digital paintings and tell me if something is wrong so I can take them off. I won't be offended because I'm still learning but If I make something I like I've posted it. I am now babysitting my baby grandson and don't want to get out the paint while he's here so I need something to do while he's napping and I usually paint everyday!

With photoshop, I have two excellent books that I am using. I learned the hard way not to just click around at will!

you can't upscale anything. even cropping it at 300dpi will increase it, we don't use 300dpi here. if you have other work, that has that same appearance this image has, then it probably won't print. i don't really have time to look at them all. basically if the image doesn't look nice at a 100%, you probably don't want to show those. it's never great working on a phone because it usually doesn't show you up close. always zoom in at 100-200% to inspect it first.

Thanks Mike! I use my Nikon Digital dslr for my work only 3 was from an ipad pic, I will take those off. I will also go back and check my paintings but I don't think I up sized any of them.

You took the first one down before I could see it. But looking at some of the others it seems you have upped the pixel size. As Mike said you can't upscale anything. To better phrase it, there is little to gain and much to lose if you do. Best to create a large image than to take a smaller one and resize it. I am sure you can do great work on your ipad if you get your workflow so you are creating a high pixel image from the start, even if you can't view the whole image at 100% on your screen. Always check your final work at 100% view.
