that stuff. if there was a real brilliant idea - i would not share it, as i don't share all that i know. have more work, have work people like, advertise said work, make more work. that's it.

I usually turn on the lights to be visible unless folks are wearing night vision goggles then don't have to worry about turning on the lights.

Thank you Mike for all your FREE advice; I know you don't like to give others an edge. I read these every time you post them and I feel in my gut that they're the best of ideas to sell one's work. I really like how you tell people not to talk about all their personal diseases and problems, and my personal favorite is how you instruct people to NOT say they are self taught or a beginner in any way in the bio because it's like trusting a doctor that is "self taught." I personally have never heard of anything more self demeaning than that, but that is just my humble opinion and I could be very wrong. So in short, I would read these blogs by Mike Savad and enjoy.

its a matter of perception, people don't have to know your education or lack there of. if someone asks i will say i taught myself. but it's better to let them decide whether the work is good or bad. when people have a perception of you they will taint the viewing of the work.

On a scale of 1 to 10, the effectiveness of putting a link to your art on FAA/Pixels is about a 1.
If you put a link to your art elsewhere, for example in a forum devoted to that topic, that's probably a 5.
Marketing an image in person, and supplying the link can probably approach a 10.

Pedro -- I don't know if there are any brilliant ideas, as what is brilliant for one of us may be different for the other. What I find brilliant is this article posted by Sean ( the owner of FAA ) from several months ago. This is what I'm doing ... when I perfect one item on the list I move to the next .... it seems to be working. Hope this is helpful to you too.

With that said, my 'gold' is my email list. And I get more views and referrals from Flickr than any other platform ( social media / blogs ) online I am on.
