Well, Patricia, you must be art aficionado!

Really? They gave the name of the artist with the name of the paintings. Also, Whistlers Mother is actually titled: Arrangement in Grey and Black No.1. So, they have that wrong, I suspect so more will do well on the quiz, as the public has come to know it by that name over the years.

I know not all here are painters, or that into art history. In my college days our professor would show us famous works, then on our tests he would project a small piece of a painting by the artists we had studied BUT not those paintings we had studied. We were to name the artist by recognizing his style. And yes, it is very difficult to do.

A+ -- but that was pretty easy. Who didn't get an A+?

It was very easy especially since they gave the artist's names - A+

I would have made a C, I think, had a choice of names not been made available, and I was challenged to generate the names cold.

A REAL test would not have given a choice of names, and just asked YOU to name the artists from raw knowledge.

Here the art of intelligent elimination was allowed for.

I take little pride in my "A+", therefore, since it is rigged to be so.

A+ but as said, very easy. Kevin you are as you know correct but the critics came up with the name.

A+ - with multiple choice I would hope everyone would ace this.

As an aside or two:
1. The name of the painting is NOT Whistler's Mother. It is "Arrangement in Grey and Black No. 1"
2. Contrary to popular belief, david is not credited with The Girl with The Pearl earring, it seems.

I just retook it, answering them all wrong....and it said I was a rookie, but admitted i got the Mona Lisa correct and a few others...which I didn't . lol.

No problem with the given choices (also A+). Two I could not name without the presettings.

I retook it and answered EVERY SINGLE ONE ... INCORRECTLY ... but still the results tell me this:

Liars, liars, pants of fires. I answered NONE of them correctly, ESPECIALLY the Mona Lisa.

This is why educational standards have taken a nose dive - the duty of teachers has become to make students feel good about themselves instead of actually teaching.

If you are literate, you can tell well over half of the answers based on the subject matter and the title.
At least they should have used plausible titles that might also apply.
