National Tv Contest Again
So much for playing the game straight. Discovered, too late to do anything about it for myself, that it was possible all along to remove your image to the contest, re-submit it, and retain your previous votes. So it was possible for people who entered early to keep their images near the front of the pack where they would be seen - if they knew about this programming quirk. I have felt disappointed in the contest all along. I don't even have a word for the feeling I have about it now.
And I hold no grudge against those entrants who tried this and found it worked and then tried it again and again since that's apparently the way the game could be played. I'm just angry that this possibility was not stated up front so anyone who wanted to try could do so - though that would, of course, have created chaos.
You might also note that the contest is now closed, at least to "internal" voting as it went from the submissions column to the finished column. I tried to vote on one and was unable to do so. So why does the contest description say that voting will continue until 28 February? I even tried copying and pasting the image link - no good. This is not fair for those still in it - it appears that their images can no longer be voted on, but they can. Or maybe this is to discourage voting on these images here at FAA and to force these entrants to continue to market in order to get more votes? But how can people market their image if they put the link out there and then it can't be voted on? Stranger and stranger.
