In 1978 I Was 17

I found these two letters last week end. I did a two foot wood carving that my high school bought from me and displayed it in the office. I also had a drawing I did printed in a book called "Sun Four"

These letters are great finds. It shows us that there are others to care and help us forward in this world. Thank you for posting.

I received an e-mail from Mrs. Reed yesterday morning telling me she may have pictures of the carving and maybe a copy of the book. She said it may take some time but she would send me what she has. In her reply she asked if I was still involved in art. I sent her a link to FAA,, Humm! I wonder what she'll think of my art now?

Mrs Reed sent me a copy of the book. Heres the drawing titled "Rockin and Rollin". The name on the drums are "FREAKY, FRIED and FRO"

I was 17 then too :)

Great memories for you Steve! I miss handwritten letters. Just think how many correspondences will be lost because they are all electronic now.

Very cool. What happened to the carving?

Louise, The wood carving may be in storage in Kansas waiting for funding to open a museum of all the military dependents the that left their art around the world.

I had to play around with this in photoshop..
